  1. B&O Sound System Upgrade Tip

I'm just testing it out, so I fashioned a retainer out of Tesa tape sitting on a bed of poly fil. It works fine for a few weeks. I'm debating upgrading my components from the Focals to something nicer. I've actually been impressed by the Focal woofers, but the tweeters leave a lot to be...
  2. B&O Sound System Upgrade Tip

Update here: I swapped out the 4" Focal ACX-100s in the corners for the tweeters that came with the component kick panel speakers I dropped in (Focal RSE-165). Used the crossovers that came with them as high-pass filters inline. I added back the factory C channel middler (it's only 4"...

  4. B&O Sound System Upgrade Tip

Not yet. Meant to order the PRV you suggested and haven't gotten around to it. I disconnected the C last week. System sounds the best it's sounded yet with just the FR and FL speakers. Overall, I've been disappointed with the Focal ACX 100s in the dash locations. I have a hard time separating...
  5. B&O Sound System Upgrade Tip

How did you splice into the amp/DSP signal for the 200.4? Did you tap each individual speaker wire coming out of the Amp/DSP? Then rely on the Kicker‘s DSP to fill in the the rolloffs created by the factory DSP?
  6. B&O Sound System Upgrade Tip

I have to say, I disregarded this advice at first. Bad call. I also used Focals for all three. With just the FR and FL speakers replaced, the sound is decent but bright. With the C swapped, the sound is unlistenable. The upper treble is overpowering. Sibilance is bad. The speaker itself...
  7. Full B&O System rip and replace audio build in 2 Door Badlands

It's very good. My dad has had two JLU Rubicons, both with the Alpine system. I've had 5 or 6 Jeeps before the '22 OBX arrived with the B&O. I've traditionally upgraded all the sound in the Wranglers because they've always been weak. The latest JLUs with the Alpines don't make me even...
  8. Upgrading B&O audio system, starting by reasoning through factory specs

That makes way more sense. 3 channels driven by the head unit, 6 channels driven by the amp/DSP, 2 of which go to the sub. Everything would be at 4 Ohm impedance (Thanks @EquusBronsis). Also, that gives discrete channels to each speaker location, which again makes way more sense. Still leaves...
  9. Upgrading B&O audio system, starting by reasoning through factory specs

(EDIT: impedance, not resistance. changed below) Part 1: Reasoning Through B&O Factory Specs I've been doing some digging to understand what's actually in the Bronco's B&O system, because it doesn't seem to be documented fully anywhere. I wanted to know what the amp was actually putting out...
