  1. Towing recommendations!

I've been tentatively looking into towing and campers, and ran into this - anyone try these? It's a quick-detach for your tongue hitch. I was thinking this might be a nice option, just remove the jack and throw it in the Bronco or in the trailer, rather than fuss with a hitch extension or...
  2. Imogene Pass Feburary 2025 Update - San Juan Mountains, CO

A little late, but it's now open for an out-and-back from Ouray! Great news.
  3. Local Police Bronco School Resource Officer

Very cool! Did it get any other police gear - emergency lighting, sirens, mounted computer, etc?
  4. Bronco reliability

I've had no issues in 38K miles except one of the fender flares delaminating (splitting into two pieces, the inner and outer pieces). Dealer replaced no questions asked. This guy on reddit just hit 200K on his Bronco with no issues as well. Seems pretty solid.
  5. Rough shifting in 4L

Hello old thread again, found this on Google. I have been running into this same issue recently in Colorado and Moab. The downshifts and throttle bips are infuriating - I can be standing on the brakes and the transmission will shift from 2 to 1 and blip the throttle, sending me forward despite...
  6. Imogene Pass Feburary 2025 Update - San Juan Mountains, CO

Good news, the Ouray side is on track to open up this weekend.
  7. Imogene Pass Feburary 2025 Update - San Juan Mountains, CO

Now expected to open in June on the Ouray side, pending completion of retaining wall repairs.
  8. Imogene Pass Feburary 2025 Update - San Juan Mountains, CO

Things are moving along well on the Ouray side. Very good news.
  9. Imogene Pass Feburary 2025 Update - San Juan Mountains, CO

They are actively working on the rockslide on the Ouray side right now, so I would bet that it will open up before September and allow you to do an out and back from Ouray.
  10. Imogene Pass Feburary 2025 Update - San Juan Mountains, CO

That's a shame, but not unexpected as there was a lot of damage on that side. Hopefully they can get it done by the time I'm there in September.
  11. SOLVED! Horrible rattles from upper part of the body. Videos and how to fix

That's infuriating! Glad to see you resolved it, and I'll put this in my notes for the future. I've spent a ton of time chasing rattles in my Bronco and have most of them nailed down with padding on the hard top locating pins. But the rattle was coming from the same area above the doors, so this...
  12. Imogene Pass Feburary 2025 Update - San Juan Mountains, CO

Blasting done, now clearing the road and shoring up the walls. Looking good!
  13. Admit it, your rig is a "mall crawler"...

No mall crawling, and I've got the receipts (pinstriping) to prove it! Gold star if anyone recognizes this little campsite. I have a picture of the view (behind the photographer) but that would definitely give it away which I'll post if someone guesses it.
  14. Blackout the Skid Plate with Raptor Spray Liner

Nice work! I didn't do the whole skid plate yet, but I did use bedliner in a can (sprayed onto a plate and then brushed on) to touch up all the scrapes and scuffs from off roading (including the rear trailing arms and trailer hitch)
  15. First highway trip 11.9 mpg!!!

Normal unfortunately - it will climb a bit once you get miles on. My trip out to Utah last spring had me going into a 45 MPH headwind at 85 MPH, and I was getting 12-13MPG.
  16. Tread check! - Dealer says I need new tires right away. Thoughts?

Good to hear that, I'm at 33K as well and am expecting to get the sales push next time I take it in. I was expecting at least another 10K.
  17. Gun Mount [LOCKED DUE TO POLITICS]

Nice, I was wondering if you could fit in a right handed holster so the draw isn't weird.
  18. Imogene Pass Feburary 2025 Update - San Juan Mountains, CO

Absolutely, there are tons of very worthwhile trails. I also really like Mineral Creek though it is a bit more challenging than Imogene (very worth it to see the mines along the way and Animas Falls). If you like Moab, the Rimrocker Trail (https://rimrockertrail.org/) is also really fun. You...
  19. Imogene Pass Feburary 2025 Update - San Juan Mountains, CO

Currently the road is closed on both sides (washout on the Telluride side, rockfall on the Ouray side). In August 2024 the Telluride side washed out and was closed at the peak, but you could still do an out-and-back from Ouray to reach the summit. (Still very fun and worth the trip, I took a...
  20. Attention: Ford Annual Price Increase on ESPs (Extended Service Plans)! Get yours @GrangerFord before prices go up April 1st!

Unfortunately the new 10% fee (and sales tax, which the other major players do not charge) makes it much less of a deal.
