I know you're referencing someone else's comment, but it makes me wonder a few things:
1. Is the Bronco really a "big" vehicle? It's about the same size as the Jeep Wrangler, and as near as I can tell, Jeeps (including the old pre-Chrysler CJs) have always been available with a 4-cylinder...
The current version of the Jimny comes with a 658cc turbo 3-cylinder that makes 64 horsepower, and you can get it with a 1.5L 4-cylinder that makes a whopping 100.5 HP and 101.8 lb.-ft. of torque.
And, the Jimny is still body on frame construction.
If the 1.5L version of the 2018-current Jimny...
I got stuck with a RAV4 as a loaner when my Tundra was in the shop a couple of times. They had Eco, Normal, and sport modes. Eco mode was terrible if you needed to get on the highway, which I did (less than 2 miles of my 25-mile 1-way commute is off of the highway). I couldn't tell a...
It's not completely irrelevant, either. An overworked 4-banger may be "enough," but will wear out faster than a V6 or V8 that's "too much engine."
A 4 cylinder that is "more than enough" may be disappointing to the size queens power posse, but will still be plenty to last the lifetime of the...
Thank you for the correction. I kept seeing this fee mentioned and assumed it was passed on to the customer.
Just to make sure I get this right, the customer pays (Invoice - 0.4%) + doc fee (max $100), and the dealer pays the $275 fee?
X-Plan also allows dealers to charge a documentation fee, which is capped at $100 or the state regulatory maximum, whichever is lower.
For all I know, y'all may not charge doc fees at all, but most dealers will charge one, so X-Plan would actually be:
.4% below invoice plus a $275 fee that...
I get the impression that OP has and will continue to have other vehicles, and that the Bronco would be to get them to and from more wild places, without necessarily being a daily driver.
If your seals are in good shape, I wouldn't expect water to get in, but you never know. Plus, if you pre-walk the obstacle to check for depth, you're going to be wet when you get back in. That's not good for cloth seats and carpeted floors.
Of course, seat covers and WeatherTech floor mats...
I'm a year 2 buyer at the earliest, so the late availability of Velocity Blue doesn't inconvenience me. I feel for y'all that are able to buy right away but can't quite get exactly what you want because of this stuff, though.
There's nothing wrong with that, if that's what you like.
For anyone who is going to be tracking in mud and grass on a more regular basis, or anyone who is going to really test out that advertised 33" of fording depth, the carpet and the cloth seats are probably not the best idea. Heck, for...
Washable interior, which should have been standard on the base, but you have to go Black Diamond or Badlands to get it. And that's the only thing I can think of that you can't get in Base that would make me think of upgrading.
Don't buy more truck than you can afford just because all of the cool kids are doing it. There's nothing wrong with Base, especially if you're DDing it 99% of the time and not tackling trails that are beyond your capability as a driver the other 1% of the time. As your driving ability goes up...
Oh, I'm pretty sure you could fit a full A2 in that space. But there are things a guy could hang on on an AR-15 that make it significantly wider than stock.
The pic that @steverollin posted is an exaggeration, but it sort of makes my point. Depending on what you hang on the side rails, you...
Sort of, but not really. I mean, you're correct that the 3.7 Cyclone was just a bored and stroked 3.5 Duratec, but that overlooks my main point.
You said "The 3.5 is limited by its open deck and aluminum block, where the Nano has the structure to handle a lot more abuse."
I'm saying that they...
