Thanks for the enlightening post NurseA.J! Posts like yours keep us from having a Bronco wait meltdown.
Yes I'm going to be waiting a long time to get my Bronco. I know we will get build dates, but I still suspect that getting it in my hands will be a pleasant surprise.
Until then I'll just...
I have a 2017 F-150 3.5 on 32" KO2's that weighs about 4700 lbs getting 19mpg.
I'm getting a 2 dr 2.7 Badlands on 33" KO2's that weighs about the same. I suspect I'll get around 19 mpg on the Bronco too.
I take my F-150 to remote places for trailheads to hiking and nature photography adventures. I haven't camped on these trips so far - just day adventures.
I'll do the same with the Bronco, but even more secluded. I may need to camp a night here and there so that I can take photos at sunrise/...
Yes - technically Ford's customers are their dealers. But keeping dealers happy makes no sense if the vehicle buyers aren't happy.
Good analogy with the iPhone. It would be much better IMO if dealers were eliminated and we could but directly from the company. It's the dealers that make...
Ford, like any other company, has the right to deliver their products to us how and whenever they see fit. Every company dictates when they make their products available to us.
We as customers have the right to choose and purchase whatever we want from any company we want.
If we don't like...
My 2001 corvette turns 20 years old in a couple of months. 90k miles. And I have a 2017 F-150 and my wife drives a 2012 Acura TL. Selling the corvette to make room for the Bronco. Hopefully the Bronco will give me 20 years. At that point I'll be 85 and ready for a 2041 Bronco.
I don't think that Ford will fulfill all orders by 2023, so there will still be commodity and order issues being bantered about, along with discussions on mods and Bronco adventures from those who have received their Broncos.
Ok. So say in April there were 1000 2 doors to be built. Above spreadsheet shows that they will build 250 at most. I suspect that the remaining 750 get pushed to May.
And say Ford had 1000 already already lined up for May. So with the leftover750 from April, they really have 1750 to build. But...
This place will be crazy when deliveries start. Photos and videos on the trails. Road trips. Grocery runs. Thousands of mods threads. Parts swaps. The fun from our Broncos will overrun this board.
Plan A
Rent a car and drive 4.5 hrs to dealer. Sign papers, get the dealer walk through. Then drive follow wife to drop off rental car. Then take 2 days to drive home on country roads.
Plan B
Same as Plan A except drive my 2001 corvette to dealer for a trade-in.
