After further research (google for a few minutes) I think I agree with this statement as long as you are using higher end speakers with built in crossovers.

I have a SAS with -12 offset and haven't experienced any rock flying but I do have Nitto Ridge Grapplers so it might be the tires. I also don't drive on dirt roads or anything so it could be the terrain too. I have seen some rocks in the tires though.
