Sorry to hear about your kid, especially right around the holidays. Hope everyone feeling 100% soon. Also that is a grade a crap situation with your bronco, sucks that happened. Hope you find more luck and honesty in the next one.
Thankfully when I had to re-order my 2022 my dealer printed out a sheet with a MSRP price, final sales price, doc fees, taxes, and a total that both me and the manager signed. They confirmed it would be sold at MSRP but he mentioned that one guy didn't buy his because he switched to a Jeep so...
Guess the only bright side is I might get to change to a cool green color and maybe the roofracks will be available for the badlands hardtop. Though I demand a 3rd ten10 fedex package on top of the existing 2.
Agreed in it's not super substantial, but it goes provide a spot for gear that is lighter in weight but takes up a decent amount of room. I'm hoping to get one to have extra room for going camping. But who knows if they will even be offered as a DIO. Probably have to have something aftermarket.
I wouldn't hate cloth, but I can't keep stuff in my vehicle super clean. Plus a toddler won't be helping. MGV and rubber floors work well for me so I can take be liberal in my cleaning measures.
If they are only offering roof rails with Sas in 2022, how do you get them now? Can you order after the fact through the dealer or is it after market at that point?
I'm a day 2 reservation. Willing to wait another year I guess but I'm on a 15 year old truck with a good number of miles. It ain't gonna hold out forever and no plans to get a temporary car.
People get real worked up about some change. Like I want to buckle up a new born or toddler in a 2 door. If I was only ever going to solo ride or with a single passenger, sure a 2 door is awesome. But with a family and friends, 4 door just seems better overall.
Tesla also has the advantage of being direct to market and not having to profit share with the dealer. But I'd rather buy a car that provides less profit margin to insanely rich individuals because that means I'm getting more for my money.
Based on the emails I've received about building a bronco after I've already ordered one, it means the marketing department is terrible and probably has little idea on what to send to who.
Having a hard time blaming Webasto at this point, more so Ford knowing about the issue for months and not correcting it being one of the largest American companies out there. They eventually need to take ownership of the situation instead of blaming everything else under the sun. At this point...
If they sold 50000 broncos this year at an average of 45000, that's 2.25 BILLION in sales. But don't worry guys, they threw a few mil at webasto to fix an issue holding up their 2 billion in revenue. They need some new decision makers in charge.
Pretty poor communication, I reckon at least it's some sort of communication though. Crazy they took reservations but will still take 18+ months for many of those people to receive their Bronco. Engineers and design team nailed it. Too bad operations, marketing, and the rest couldn't.
