Did you ever get it to align? I’ve had the same problem and after trying for 2 hours, managed to strip a bolt. This is a major Fail! Don’t recommend. I kept the upgraded hinges for now.

When you refer to be careful with bolts falling inside the tailgate, are you talking about the bolts on the hinges from the inside?

Let us know if you were able to align it back to spec. I plan to use “painter blue tape” before removing the rear door so I have I have a “visual” to align them back. Looks good!
