I smell bullshit; 4WD is NO reason to replace all tires.
If the nail is in the tread, it can be patched.
If the nail is in the sidewall, the tire should probably be replaced.
Take the vehicle to a good mechanic and get their opinion.
So uh, I have the dreaded cold morning tranny rattle, but there is also a cold startup rattle in the back, perhaps from the exhaust. It seems to go away once the fast idle goes down.
Now I'm looking again at that stoopid flapper valve inside the stock muffler...
I tried ONCE with that fucking bag.
Seems like it's about 1/8" bigger than it needs to be, and it needs to be about 4 inches bigger than it needs to be.
Total PIA.
I just bungee the tops to the back of the seats.
Good post!!! I can see that you, like most of us Texans, like to fsck wif stuff...
But a spring-loaded flap in a muffler?!?
What could POSSIBLY go wrong, Ford?!?
I was gonna leave my exhaust alone (I'm O-L-D), but now I've gotta research options...can I get my plasma chopper in there? Do I...
I usedta wheel my F-250 a lot when I was stationed out west...side hills skeer the sheeit outta me.
What I've learned from this thread is I shoulda bought a Corvair.
Mine makes noise on cold mornings until I get into 3rd gear and drive a couple of blocks.
My 2010 Ranger MT did the same thing until I installed Mobile 1 Synthetic ATF at about 25K miles.
I suspect this is an el-cheapo fluid fill problem, just like "Ford Synthetic Blend 5-30w".
Put some...
I've got a Comet 2X4 coming today (c'mon UPS), with the spring.
I bought that flagpole/shovel/antenna mount off of Amazon about a week after I got my truck...it works, not sure it's worth $120. There are probably better options out there. I normally run an old Comet; model number is painted...
I've got a stress crack in the center of my windshield, right thru the camera.
I can't find a surface defect.
1188 miles.
Took it to the dealer, Stealership Flunkie comes out with some sort of app on his phone, fools around on my hood for about 10 minutes and comes up with a "rock chip".
I...
I found in the manual where it says oil consumption should stabilize on a new engine at 3K miles.
That's when Ford considers the rings to be seated, which is the main break-in factor on newer engines with roller cams, so I'm changing to full synthetic then.
Yee Fn Haw.
