    I dint know what "4A" was when I was ordering off of ye olde interweeeb. Onliest veehickles I ever had said "2H, 4H, 4L", and in Them Good Old Days; "N". The Ford marketing crap just said "Advanced Transfer Case". It was FREE so WTH!!! Glad I did!

    There's a video by that same Dad/Son team where they take a Toyota and a Bronco up a cross-rutted powerline trail. The Toy just crawls up the trail with their default traction control, whereas the Bronco needs the rear locked to make it up. Ford's traction control has a dismal time constant...

    4H (or 4L) is NOT FOR TURNING ON HARD SURFACES, in the rain or not. I don't think the transfer case chain is ridiculously expensive, but the labor to replace it sure as hell is. Use 4A if you have it. This would be a Good Time to familiarize yo bad self with 4WD systems...

    Hyuk!!! I remember, in Them Good Old Days, when all anybody had was open diffs! Now we have a choice of open, brake-based traction control (Ford's version SUCKS compared to Toyota's, BTW), or a locked diff, AND PEOPLE ARE STILL BITCHIN!!!

    I've got a 22 Badlands MT. 22K miles. Tranny made some noise when cold. At about 15K miles, changed out the fluid for BG Synchro II. Tranny now makes noise only when temps in the teens. Ecktually, I changed ALL the fluids, except coolant. Truck feels much smoother. Check out this thread...
