Congratulations !! You have been so generous with your updates and advice and these photos! So good to see the three of you finally hooked up! Good to know about driving home on the freeway in Sport mode. I was just RTFMg the modes to figure that out. As my grandmother used to say, "Use it...
  4. 🛠 1/3/22 Build Week Group

My spouse finally wrote me a Ruby program that pings the trucker trackers every 10 seconds and will e-mail us when our VIN registers in one of them  Edit: when IF. Not 100% sure our dealer uses either North American (palsapp) or United Road

OTOH, one selling point was being able to go fearlessly all over Death Valley, which we love to do. Last time we did it in his Honda, I was constantly worried about getting stuck in the Panamints with only a 6-pak of beer and a useless AAA card. He loves the desert; I think that did it.

Good news: tracker working Bad news: EDD updated from 2/3 to 2/13, here in train-to-truck Rail Yard Limbo. :(
  8. 🛠 1/3/22 Build Week Group

Well technically it's my truck, replacing my '95 Mustang w/ 250K mi for my work on a ranch, where he doesn't want me driving his Honda. But he was resistant to the idea--wanted to wait for an electric car, offered me a Mach-E--so to get buy-in, I had to settle for the no-frills model in his...

Super cool! Jealous of snow! Thanks to the person who stood out there filming and gave that little chuckle at the end. What kind of tires are those?

We had that same discussion--married 32 years, 10 mos, 1 week, but who's counting? The fact is, I am a better driver wrt judgment, mechanical skills, and reading social cues from other drivers. (Like probably 80% of Silicon Valley geniuses, my husband might be a tad of the way onto the autism...

Thanks. I'm still stumped. I ran the numbers for What If <1 year (1st table) and What if almost 3 years. (2nd table). The price for a 3 yo car isn't all that much less. (Tho, of course it will be more 3y from now!) So if I can go almost 3y on the premium that comes standard, and not pay an...

Insurance question: why would I buy a policy now from Flood or dealer when the truck comes with a 3y/36K coverage. Wouldn't I wait til that about runs out and then get the extended?? Edit: Flood quotes table says "“Remember all Ford Protect plans start at the vehicle's original retail date and...

No, no! This New England-born girl longs for snow! Here, we have to drive 5 hours to Tahoe. Snow is something that is supposed to come to you, not you to it!

Can you maybe do it over the phone? Or is that on (another) line?
  18. 🛠 1/3/22 Build Week Group

What is the simpler way? The activate button won't initiate the GPS tracker til the ignition is turned on. So I'm somewhat tongue-in-cheek thinking to automate the process of pressing the button once/minute to catch those few minutes when the truck is driven off the train onto the truck, if...

Beautiful!! Congratulations! O to be in snow! It's 72° and bright sun here.
  20. 🛠 1/3/22 Build Week Group

According to the instructions in the app, the motor has to be turned on to activate the app. Do they drive it (or roll it) off the train to the truck? If drive, it would make sense to hit the in-app activation button once/minute. :D Edit: My computer scientist hubby says it's theoretically...
