  1. 3.73, 4.27 & 4.46 ratio on-road?

Best point made in this thread is that the "perfect" gear combo completely depends on your usage and no matter what you choose the spread of gears across the A10 tranny will probably work fine. As another data point My F-150 4X2 weighs similar to a 2-door Bronco. It has 2.7 with A10 3.73 gears...
  2. Gear Ratio / Speed Calculator - 2.3L, 2.7L, Manual and Auto

Ahh, man... ruining all the fun. Honestly though this is a great tool! I run at 85mph often here in the west so it is nice to see where the different combos put RPM. 2 thumbs up!
  3. Gear Ratio / Speed Calculator - 2.3L, 2.7L, Manual and Auto

This is great! If I put 35's on a base 2.7 my top speed will be 221mph. Suck that McLaren!
  4. Let's do the MPG math

Just another data point.. My 2018 4X2 F-150 with 2.7EB and A10 with 33's and 3.73 weighs about 4,300 lbs and gets ~20mpg mixed according to onboard puter.. 80% city and 20% freeway mix and I drive it like I stole it because 2.7! I could get a bit more if I wanted but that would be boring
  5. Deep dive on the 10R80 10-Speed Automatic Transmission

+1 on loving this trans, mine is paired with the 2.7. So excited for this combo in a 2-door with doors and top off.
  6. Base Model Rear Locking Differential

I like this idea as I want to keep the 3.73 gears. I do 85+ MPH on freeway a lot and will stay at 33's so don't really need the 4.27 gears that the option comes with when stepping up to BB. I had a helical LSD on a Hemi Ram1500 and the current e-locker on my F150 and they both fill my needs...
  7. Base Model Bronco Thread

My truck has ~33" tires, 2.7 A10 and 3.73 rear end. It weighs close to a 2-door so a bit lighter than your 4-door build but there will be zero issues power wise. In fact it is such a perfect compromise for my off-road , around town and 85mph+ freeway usage I wish I could get the same on a Base...
  8. Let's help Ford help us.

We must have been typing at same time. I agree 100%
  9. Let's help Ford help us.

+1 on having rear locker and tow package as ala carte on base. Those on a Base 2.7 is all I need. I was able to do exactly that on my '18 F150 XL 4x2. Can't get any more base than that .. it even needed 101A to get cruise control.
  10. GM Doesn't Want The Ford Bronco To Have All The Fun

Haha, I love V8's. I have had at least one in the driveway ever since my '68 firebird I drove in high school in the 80's until I just recently got rid of my last V8 to buy my 2.7ecoboost. Sacrilege I know.. but I sold a manual trans V8 for a 2.7 A10. Throw the chairs I have had jeeps and...
  11. GM Doesn't Want The Ford Bronco To Have All The Fun

If you read my post carefully you will notice I said nothing about saving the planet. I do not love electric vehicles because they do or they don't. I love them because of the instant torque and nearly zero maintenance. It is a love based purely on performance. I would love them even if they...
  12. Really? REALLY?!? "You're Invited to Test Drive The..."

Am I the only one that doesn't really like the new F150 design? Something about that front quarter panel looks too.. Nissan-y or something.
  13. My thoughts on 2 door at Super Cel

I bought a reg cab pickup with only 2 doors and have regretted it 0 times. 2-doors with 33's for the win
  14. Video: 6'3" guy climbs in and out of 2 door Bronco rear seats (+ full review)

Also not worried about the top and door storage. I will be taking the top (except the section over my bald head) and doors off and leaving them at home for 9 months out of the year so no need to carry them around. I ride motorcycles so the amount of coverage in a topless, doorless Bronco will...
  15. Video: 6'3" guy climbs in and out of 2 door Bronco rear seats (+ full review)

Perfect! No one will be getting in the back of my Bronco since kids are gone and I have no friends.
  16. Sasquatch 2 Door Bronco Black Diamond in Rapid Red

After having owned lifted trucks and jeeps with 35's and 37's I am definitely in the 33's camp as well. Plenty for the type of off-roading I do and still great drivability and acceleration around town. And 2-door with 33's just looks right. I think the 4-door needs 35's for the right stance...
  17. Which power train won't be a lemon?

I hear this from people and scratch my head because the 2.7 has no turbo lag and definitely compares well in power. Weird how we can drive the same truck and come away with such different impressions. I test drove them all and I liked the 2.7 better than the 5.0 Coyote and the 5.3. I could...
  18. Which power train won't be a lemon?

No premium fuel requirement, unless you consider 87 premium. In fact the 2.7 auto-senses the octane level and adjusts accordingly.
  19. Which power train won't be a lemon?

It is the truck in my pic. Was actually very hard to find a simple 4x2 reg cab short bed. Everyone seems to need a 4x4 crew cab. I bought it as a placeholder until I am able to get a Bronco. The light weight and locking rear diff with 2.7 A10 power combo has honestly been perfect for exploring...
  20. Which power train won't be a lemon?

I believe carbon buildup is due to no air/fuel mixture going over the intake valve in direct injection motors. ALL direct injection motors whether V6, V8 from GM, Ford, Toyota, BMW etc have the POTENTIAL for this issue. Your 2017 may or may not have direct injection. To counter this Ford (and...
