Seriously. I'm this close to starting a bad batch soft-top poll. Told myself I'd take a break from the forum and not chase the butterfly. (Thats going well 😉) But the lack of any meaningful communication is frustrating to say the least. @Ford Motor Company what is the deal with our soft top builds?
This is what has me concerned something is going on with ours. Same dealer as me, almost the same build. I have Sas and Lux, but he has the tow pkg which we know is an extra step.
Ross, there seems to be a fair amount of soft top orders that are stuck "in production" for weeks now. Later blend dates with similar builds and even at the same dealerships are receiving shipping notices. Neither dealers nor Ford marketing can shed any light. My dealer even thought it was odd...
I'm curious, what's your full build? I'm an 8/5 blend with Chapman and I'm stuck in production. 4-dr Badlands, 2.7, Lux, Sasquatch, soft top. No tow pkg, no PPF. Basically nothing that would get put on after main assembly. thanks!
Hopefully soon, but not quite yet. Hoping for a mid-Sept delivery, but I've been in production for two weeks now, which doesn't give me the warm fuzzies. Soft-top, so in theory shouldn't have any hold ups. We'll see...
You gotta send us some pictures so we can drool and dream!!
Someone in another thread stated their dealer said the in production delay was because their softy was getting the hardtop prep kit installed (pre-Sept). Probably dealer BS, but if that was actually the case I'd be happy to wait a little bit longer.
I called @Ford Motor Company yesterday and someone finally answered but immediately muted themselves until I gave in and hung up. I could hear them unmute occasionally.
I'm trying to stay positive and hope I provided someone a nice half hour break from dealing with all the pissed off customers...
I'd explain this to Ford CS and request the ability to switch to a different dealer. You have your reservation number. That should be enough. There are stories on here of people making a new reservation and Ford applying the original reservation timestamp to the new reservation because of dealer...
Damn, I'd like to see a close up pic, but it almost looks like they put the rails on while the paint was still wet. I've dealt with this on equipment I sell with shrink wrapping applied before the paint had cured. Before any DIY solution, I'd take it to the dealer and see if there is any...
Request a copy of the DORA from your dealer. It is the acknowledgement from Ford to the dealer of the exact order and options.
Edit: Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement
I'm just hoping it's a rail thing and not some commodity BS. Also, it's hard to check only once a day. It could get updated early in the morning from the day before... Or in the afternoon because the days run just completed... And why not at lunch break... And just in case there's a lag in the...
