I'm on the board of an automotive data analytics company, making this thread a curiosity.
As a day two order who got a 2022 at price-protected MSRP, I'm thrilled with the Bronco's value and open-top, trail-friendly fun factor, echoed by literally everybody in my circle, including many jeep...
Certainly happy with a price-protected ($695) OEM HT on my 2022, but this example suggests that many quality HT options will be available down the road for everybody's benefit
This was my setup based upon early feedback on this thread too (stock speakers, PnP kit 11, kicker nicely zip tied to the steering column). Went without a hitch, tight fit for sure, but just patient in working with it.
Doubt I'll ever update speakers or add a subwoofer, the 200.4 gives me a...
My base (no degree indicator) seems to move predictably between the red and blue dots.
This means you can move between your two options of "arctic winter" and "surface of the sun" seamlessly with just a simple flick.
Do it.
Got my grey 4D basequatch in July, only options were hardtop, aux switches, liners, rock rails.
Added only the following, based upon the great forum advice here...
-- window tinting with 3M Crystalline (70-40-20 front, front row sides, rear, $850)
-- a Kicker Key 200.4 smart...
Things like this make a basequatch look better and better. This will be it if-when I mess up the carpet, perhaps well down the road, if floor liner options trip up. It took a full 175K miles on an Expedition to make me want to refloor it, likely less than that on a Bronco. Well done OP
Finally all solved: A local audio guy just helped me for five minutes with the plugs. Tipped him for some beers.
Notes:
-- bailed on installing the Kicker above the glove box, chose instead the steering column, just so much easier to handle the harness wiring. No interference with...
Oh and by the way, didn't mean to dissuade, I think OP's solution looks great! I do like the FL observation that sleeping in any car requires some tackling of high and low temps
I regularly rent wranglers on ski trips and was death-wobbled on two trip occasions. kind of hilarious to me, but would have scared the life out of my wife. Bronco is just like a pickup, not like a crossover or car, but soooooo much better to keep centered on the highway. Not even close
Is there some trick to unplugging the black plug from the head unit?
I saw from the plug and play harness that there was a tab on the front of the connector to push in then presumably just unplug it, but I am having a whale of a time on this single step trying to free that up.
Any help thanks!!!
Two-year journey just wrapped up yesterday!
Tracking system went from "built" (5/17) in the morning to a call from the dealer at noon, skipping over shipping entirely. The ultimate pro tip may be don't waste one more minute hawking over order status. Go hug somebody instead
