That was always my impression too. It wouldn't make a lot of sense to base a brand new vehicle on a platform you will be replacing in a year or so.

I agree with this. I just hope it's the 2.7 and not the 3.3. Jeep JL started with a turbo 4 and n/a V6. I hope Ford doesn't try to copy that.

One other thing they mentioned was having 6 engines. The current line-up has the 2.7, 3.0, 3.5, 3.5HO, and 5.0. I'm assuming the 3.5 hybrid will replace the 3.5HO. Am I wrong or forgetting something, that still leaves another engine option.
