I'd say this puts him on the horns of a dilemma. All I can truly say is that I've got a fever and the only cure is more cowbell.

I believe that at least one of the sets of flaps that Ford offers are designed to be used with the oem rock rails installed. They are shaped to allow the rail to pass through the flap.

Of course, that may explain why they seem to be scarce in the wild. Sometimes, because of supply issues, things like these steps can be like buying unobtainion with which to build.
