I got 4” Alpines from Crutchfield and the suggestion was 300 MHz so that’s what I put in the dash. Same speaker in rear pods but most of what I read said no need for bass blockers in the rear pods.
Doesn’t sound boomy, but I didn’t experiment with different freqs like you did.
Seems like the...
Just a follow-up to my own message. Installed the Alpine S-S40 dash and rear pod speakers. Tried it with 16xx and 2Axx. Preferred the latter.
Also tried EQ off 0900 vs EQ on (high pass) 0901 and preferred the latter. EQ On.
Hard to really tell how much better vs stock. Definitely more subtle...
I did the same initially but seemed to find it a bit boomy, so re-enabled the 01 EQ high pass on ACM 727-01-02. Might have been my imagination but sounds fine with 01.
But I have some dash and pod speaker replacements coming now, so I will likely play with the settings. Got some Alpine 4"...
Didn’t do anything specifically to it, but FOR it…
Got some take-off Sas wheels over the weekend and got some KM3s mounted last night. Will be my “wheeling set”.
I use a 1Up rack and extender (not 1 up, some crappy one off Amazon). To avoid excess play I got this:

Works really well.
Passed the 1st car wash test. No inside leaks that I could tell. I’ve been avoiding my usual touchless high pressure car wash. But a new soft touch one opened up near me this weekend. Tommy’s car wash. I guess they’re a chain. They’re doing free car washes all weekend. So figured I’d give it a...
Did 16 hrs a couple weeks ago and the Bronco seats (I have a 2dr) are definitely supportive and comfortable over long distances. More so than the JL seats in the Rubicon I had before the Bronco. both were leather however. MGV sounds horrible to me.
OK good to know. I had turned off that EQ setting (high pass filter) to the rear speakers, but I think I will enable it back again. There' some boom on occasion. Otherwise all I had changed besides setting the EQ to '0' was to set the rear driver side (not sure why it was backwards) in Forscan...
Has anyone tried to brace up the factory steel rear bumper? The JL's had similar issue and there were some brackets you could get to stiffen up the corners and keep them from flexing up into the body).
Question - in FORScan, it allows you to set to "Tweeter" only instead of "Tweeter and Speaker"... would this have same effect as a bass blocker (which I assume is some sort of high pass filter)... ?
Ok thanks i'll get some for the front dash then. I've done the Fusion amp and Kicker sub. Now that I'm liking the sound, I'm going to swap all the speakers (dash, kick panel, pods), because why not. :)
Reason for bass blockers only on the dash speakers and not rear pods? What if you don't do any bass blockers? What if you had bass blockers on the rear pods also?
Cheers
