I doubt it will increase the rating as it is limited by what the hardtop can handle. Front Runner and Rhino Rack make racks that bolt through the top into the roll bar for Jeeps. Hopefully they will release something similar for the Bronco Soon.
I confirmed that Front Runner has plans and they...
The ones I saw are for the soft top only (for top down use) or similar to the factory rack that mounts to the top of the hardtop. I need something like Front Runnerās or Rhino Rackās that bolts through the hard top to the roll bar and can carry more than 100lb. Iām sure they will offer one...
āIt's just not ready for mainstream consumers yetā. Thatās some crack head level nonsense right there. Iāve spent several hours and miles of on road and off road seat time in a 4 door Badlands and other trims. Zero complaints. Clearly some next level bias here.
That would be my guess based on the red āRā in Bronco. Similar to the Baja race truck. Interesting hood and bump in roof line. The rear almost looks like a truck bed or maybe area for long suspension and spare tire in rear.
If you plan on actually using the Bronco for itās designed intent then an EV is a total nonstarter. There are severe range limitations when tackling off road terrain especially in the mountains.
Check out TFLās results when testing the Bronco against the hybrid Jeep 4Xe (start at the 23 min mark)ā¦
Please DM @Ford Motor Company about this issue. It has been documented by other owners in various threads and needs to be brought to their attention so they can address it.
Hoping itās the backbone design that bolts thorough the hardtop to the roll bar. I need to carry more than the 110lb dynamic load provided by the factory rack (which I canāt even buy anyway at this point).
I confirmed with Front Runner that they have plans to make a rack. They are waiting to receive their Bronco so could be some time before an actual product is released.
