I guess I'll never know where I am in the allocation, since my dealer will not return my calls. About 15 years ago, after buying many cars from the same folks, my dad quit doing business there because he called, anxious to buy a car that day, and nobody called him back.
I'll never understand. I...
Ford bit off way more than it can chew with this launch. Too many trim levels. Too many sub-trim levels within those. Plus Sasquatch option on all. It is unmanageable.
I am NOT surprised my dealer isn’t one of the ones not adding ADM. However, if I had a reservation and converted it to the order by doing my “build” which had a price at the bottom, doesn't that have to be honored?
My dealer was disorganized with leadership out of town the week of March 19 so...
I am inspired by Ford’s humanitarian generosity to throw a bone to those hard cases who can afford a new Ford every year despite not having jobs, I guess, if they can hang out having a latte at the dealership.
If anyone finally deserves a break, it is them.
Across my family:
84 Ford van
87 Ford Bronco
88 or 89 Ford Taurus
89? Ford Probe
90 Thunderbird
96 Bronco
05 Mustang
Three Toyota Avalons (same dealer/owner)
15 Toyota 4Runner (same dealer/owner)
Can’t get them to call me back let alone priority.
“Hey, I ordered the most basic, off-the-rack, stock product, and signed up for it on day one. Can I get that earlier than someone who didn’t sign up until three months later and ordered something custom?”
Ford: “No.”
The idea that bumping priority orders ahead of others doesn’t affect those others, in a situation where it is already taking a year to get orders, simply defies logic.
A priority order bumping ahead of a Bronco die-hard who made an immediate reservation is like when your favorite band forever has a concert, you get tickets the day they go on sale, then someone only marginally interested in the concert who doesn’t know the band’s music but heard it’s the thing...
I am joyful and happy for people who cut in line! It was outside my control, so why not celebrate their win!
Oooooh, wait, the whole reservation concept made it entirely within our control. Supposedly.
I’d have thought that the ranch and construction barons also had internet access on 1/13 and probably even more ability to part with $100 at a moment’s notice than some of us, but maybe I’m wrong.
I could bring it up with my official therapist this Friday morning, but I doubt he is trained to understand my Bronco fetish and mania. And strangely many folks do not understand reservations and time stamps and think it crazy to honor them.
Really, since I ordered a 2-door with no roof rack...
I have clammed up since my previous ranting Declaration of Impatience, but this chaps my ass. As I predicted previously, even though I reserved a Base on day one, which I would wager is the only Base ordered in Oxford, MS, and logically ought to be one of the first delivered here, some rich frat...
Since my order confirmation, I have not heard a peep from the dealer, and at no time have I heard from the owner or sales manager who were out of the office when I converted my order. I called up there yesterday afternoon to ask if they could tell me how many Broncos they have allocated and...
The “fetish” comment wasn’t making fun. It is a tribute. I have a Bronco fetish, thus I don’t know why people who DO NOT care go to the trouble of registering.
It is so uncool to want your Bronco. The cool cats who couldn’t care less when it gets here for some reason went to the trouble of registering on a Bronco fetish forum, reading threads like this one, and commenting how uncool it is to care about Broncos.
One day we may that cool.
