Just received a call. The dealership has the new transmission and if they can find me a loaner I will be taking it in on Tuesday the 11th with an expected finish date of the 14th.
Yeah, pretty much. 10 year 100k miles is what I’ll be asking for. For some strange reason I have no confidence in the transmission. We are on year 3 of pretending there is nothing wrong, why would I believe 5 years will be enough?
Has anybody received or at least attempted to get some sort of no deductible extended warranty on the transmission after it has been repaired/replaced?
Update from my trusty Ford representative: “your dealer hasn’t received the part yet”. The end. I am glad I am waiting on a transmission from the start at least.
I’m assuming assuming “OBSOLESCENCE” is the old version making room for the new. I like that they are changing it up, hopefully it’ll work, quietly.
Btw your name, reminds me of a fun time, I had a 2006 Ducati monster, loved that bike, it’s been almost 15 years.
Well the message I received when askinv for a timing update for the new transmission is as clear as mud. Well maybe a bit clearer than mu but not much:
“43PCS TO BE RECEIVED AT PACKAGER BY 03/31,19PCS TO BE RECEIVED AT PACKAGER BY 04/14,CAUSAL DESCRIPTN1: XA PENDING OBSOLESCENCE,ORDERS TO BE...
I reached out this afternoon for a timing update for replacement transmission, no word yet. If they tell me two more months I’ll be looking to replace it. Another bronco, with an automatic, would be in the running but won’t pay over msrp so chances are slim.
I find it funny when people, myself included, talk poorly about Toyota not improving upon the drivetrain in the 4Runners. I would pay a lot of money for a new Jeep with a 4.0l inline 6. I say this as I wait for a replacement 7 speed for my new bronco…
I have thought about looking at this but I do not know enough about it to feel I’d be making an informed decision. I was asked this afternoon to bring back loaner and take bronco home, and was now told replacement will be the end of the month and possibly the beginning of next month. I really do...
I hear you. I am choosing to move forward with the replacement transmission. I am lucky enough to have a nice loaner vehicle. If the new transmission is just another that isn’t 100% then I’ll have to figure out the next move. Unfortunately, as you know, getting a replacement bronco, with the...
As of yesterday I am told the replacement transmission is back ordered with hopes of getting one by the end of March.
I am glad this is the decision but nervous the replacement will not be any better…
