I have the floor liners in my work Explorer. They are thin, but they are a high quality material and I believe they will be pretty durable. I took delivery of it brand new and did still get the carpet mats.
A bit early to tell. I am encouraged by the fact that they are using silicone over the switches. This should help with the water resistance. However, I am hoping that the silicone stands up to the Florida heat.
That ratio would only hold true with the 33's. In my experience the crawl ratio is more import with the MT and much more important to preserve over the AT crawl ratio.
Since the accessory list includes 4.88. 5.13, and 5.38 as future accessory options, I am wondering if Ford postponed the ManSqautch option until MY22 so that they can leverage one of those options as part of the SAS build. Since the AT steps up to the 4.70 from 4.46 when the SAS option is...
On my build the bump to the BL/high combo is more like $4K. I really had no sound issue with the JKU soft top, So I’m not sure it’s worth it for us.
I am hoping I don’t end up longing for the screen, but my experience with the 8” is not letting me justify the cost.
I agree, I was shooting for the high package. I did consider the Lux for a hot second due to the heated steering wheel. Kind odd since I am in FL. However, we are a die hard soft/no top family and the open air can get a bit nippy.
I was recently issued an Explorer for work. It is an XLT with only 2 options, a heated steering wheel and floor liners. The XLT is pretty well provisioned to start off with and I have to say that all in all I am pretty impressed with all that it offers.
I was eager to get to know it a bit...
No problem, there really doesn't appear to be much difference between the 2 interiors. All I have noticed so far is the steering wheel and the lack of the center console grab handle on the Base.
I think they may have run out of real estate. I initially was wondering why this doesn't follow the same design as the new Explorers (which I kinda like since it has a mute button) then I realized that the buttons are weatherized. They appear to have the same silicon covering as the hero...
For the record I am getting between 22 & 23 on the 2.3 that is in my Explorer for work. That is mixed Hwy/City. I only have about 1,000 miles on it so it may increase a bit after a bit more break in.
I looked at the Order Guide again and the order code 87E for the hard top storage bag is not listed as an option of the Black Diamond. That doesn’t make sense since it seems to be listed for the other trims, so it can’t be a weight thing.
Badlands:
Black Diamond (No 87E order code listed)
