i can’t think of a successful large brand tha doesn’t use outside agencies and firms in their marketing efforts. It’s a scale/cost thing. Even Apple, Google and Target which have amazing marketing and in-house advertising and P&R teams, hire others to do specific and high-profile work.
As Ford...
Uhhh, dude/dudette, you realize we already have essentially primer grey (cactus gray) which was one thing this post was trying to accurately represent because B&P is junk.
And 2nd, of the following list of this years colors, can you point out which are pastel?: cyber orange, race red, rapid...
This is the reference i used. Boxwood has many subtle hues on the intertubes, some more pea, some with more blue in them. What IS missing is the high gloss of the older shots, it's looking matte here. But i'd take any variation of this green it in a heartbeat.
I've got a couple builds in mind (another is a BL), but one is OBX + 33s + small lift, so I wanted to see what that may be. Here are a pile of photos (NOTE none are available as shown here, this is my retouching of B&P images). Made some as gifs for easy comparison. This is what I did:

We went and saw Rapid Red and Cactus on a couple Sports. The red is not for me (came off as maroon) on a Bronco. It has pretty depth, and I understand how many will love it because of that. My 10 year old captured my feeling when she said it was a minivan color.
Here’s a little historical side note. I live a few blocks from the former Ford Ranger plant on the banks of the Mississippi in St Paul, MN, which closed in 2011 as Rangle sales had plummeted. In the mid-90s they put out 300,000 Rangers a year. It was the longest running Ford plant, starting with...
Have you found a good candidate @Broncodave? Would love a dog-dish steelie. TODAY I am in OBX camp and replace wheels with 17" + 33" AT. (This changes weekly between OBX + wheel swap and Wildtrack or BL optional wheels, but I don't need that capability,) Also don't like the OBX running boards...
Still trying to decide if I love or hate Cactus Gray. But I do know I want white, or the very least shadow black, so I did a quickie photochop. I personally prefer when the green comes out and the white top seems to enable that more for my eyeballs.
Thanks for the LabRat color work. When I saw in person in flat light it was never quite that neutral of a grey, but close. But as everyone has noticed, as soon as the sun (both at sunset, bright day light or night artificial lighting) hits the paint, the color changes.
Hardly a city slicker, I grew up with horses (colts even, I trained one from 6 months through riding) and my vacations were spent riding them in the Rockies and Bighorns. I am completely aware that a colt is a juvenile male horse. What is random is that a colt goes into a cave and comes out a...

the rockstars are in the marketing department— they are the one who hired the ad agency Wieden+Kennedy to do the Ford truck work. W+K is responsible for Nike “just do it” and right now does the KFC, Old Spice and Bud light ads.
I agree these are pretty nice and do think it would’ve been a...
The ad agency I used to work at was across the street from a swank hotel. “PINEAPPLE!” was the code word we used over the intercom when someone spotted nekkids or nooners in the hotel windows. The entire agency would run to the window to spy. Talk about a reveal, lol ??
