I could be wrong, but dont think cutting power would help. My understanding of what others have laid out here is that a healthy 12V supply is needed to remain in neutral-tow mode once it is turned on. If voltage drops too low (including no power I assume) then the default mode is to reengage...
I scanned this whole thread, but may have missed some detail about the auto vs. 7MT question - where folks think the 7MT is immune, or at least the safer bet.
If the most likely culprit is the voltage drop causing the transfer case to come out of neutral-tow mode, why couldnāt the same thing...
Boat trailers with Disc type surge brakes need the 7 pin connection. The center pin is the tow vehicle reverse lights, and this 12v signal opens a valve in the trailer brake line to deactivate the trailer brakes in reverse. Older drum trailer brakes you could back up against because they didnāt...
I sold my 2002 Toyota MR2 (manual) to make room for the 2-door Bronco. Still miss the MR2, but at least I can still row my own gears!
(That MR2 pic is after the new owner invested heavily, so it went to a good home)
This is interesting to me... I don't have an RV yet, but hoping to in a few years. Currently I have a 2-door 2.3L manual, but my wife is not as excited about rowing gears as I am. We are thinking of selling and re-order to order an auto. If so, I was planning on moving to the 2.7L also (if...
Thanks for the replies and pics here... I'm leaning more toward titanium "to be different" and in hopes it brightens up the interior a little (view from the driver's seat that matters most:).
My OCD is bothered by the little strip of mesh that sits below the hard top bracket (in the pic...
Nice 2-door pic, thanks! I actually got 3 color samples, and have been looking up at the sun thru them, what my neighbors must think... But then I'm also trying to get an image of how the non-black colors look from side and back. I like how the zippers "disappear" with the black mesh, but I'm...
Thanks for the reply, happen to have any photos with the top off or folded back (if soft top)? If convenient, just wondering how visible the mesh is from side / rear view.
My additional thought about the titanium being more densely woven was that it may help little more if you get caught in a...
Thanks for clarifying this... Mine is in for the TSB right now, hoping to hear something in the next couple days - that it's either "done" or if they saw anything suspect once it was opened up, they would push back for the new trans. I had not stayed totally current on this thread, but knew...
On the fence about ordering one of these tops for my 2-door, and either need to decide tonight (May sale ends) or wait for the next sale. But I'm sweating the color choice. Even with the color swatches...lol.
My understanding is that titanium is "metallic" and more reflective, and...
Correct, added these steps to my 2-door recently. If you donāt mind giving up a little ground clearance, they are great -easier to use as steps with the slight drop.
Great wheels! Thinking about the same wheels for my non-sas 2-door, but I also like the look of the Badlands wheels, so kind of torn... And since I live in Cincinnati, ground clearance is not priority-one. Did you put larger (Sas-size) BFG tires on also? I have read that I could reuse my 33"...
Lots of good options discussed here, but wondering if anyone has used large shelf like this for the rear top portion? My issue is floor space needed for the top lift and not wanting the top hanging in middle of garage space when stored. 2-people needed I realize, but shelf is large enough to be...
Anyone have first-hand experience with the 2.3 Tune with the 7MT? It seems like part of the benefit is modifying shift points, which would not apply to the manual. Iāve only logged around 1200 miles so far, and like the thought of this tune, but not sure how much the benefits are diminished...
