@Valhalla thank you, sir. We'll probably look to cut that to 6 somehow. I really, really appreciate your guidance brother. Hope to see you out there to shake your hand and have a day together.
@vrtical sounds like a plan. We're going to go with @Valhalla's route above and maybe use 74>67 to 66 and onto 51. Just not sure how much time that adds.
@Valhalla I just followed this all the way through OnX 3D. Looks like an awesome day! Thank you for putting that together! At the end, 23 actually cuts south off of 22 about halfway through. 23 terminates about in the backyard of where we're staying.
@Valhalla How many hours of total seat time would you estimate? We're staying in a place that's basically direct access to 22...so driving out to 51 is starting to seem less and less appealing the more I learn about the park.
@Valhalla I'm looking at both of your Yellow and Red Dashed/Dotted routes. Fall Fell 2025, and Yuletide run (2023). I also have your 2025 Yule Tide Run route pulled up...seems like a bit of a hike to get out there where the action starts.
I also have your Ladies Spring Fling route.
@Valhalla It looks to me like the way to run 82 is to head up the ledge and then down that gate keeper you were mentioning. That ledge looks a lot harrier going down and I don't mind pulling myself up from there...of course, you can't ever really know until you're sitting there staring at it -...
@Valhalla Yikes. I don't have a winch in the rear. Wonder if I can put my XLock to work and belay it down that section...no option to go around, I assume...
@twendel44 Here's the one from the Fall. The other one I found somewhere a while back, I think on the events page:
https://webmap.onxmaps.com/offroad/share/content?share_id=01K7EYWBVKZPD2ESDPJXNP5MEZ
For this route, it looks to me like the most challenging section will be about a 1 mile...
@Valhalla looking at your OnX Yule Tide ride from December and your Moderate run from January. Which one would you recommend for someone who's never been out there before?
Well, looks like there will only be 2 of us. I'm in a Wildtrak and my friend will be in a Wrangler with no lockers, lifted on 37s. We typically run 6/7 out of 10 rated difficulty trails OnX...and we need to drive home back to Charlotte. So, I'd say moderately challenging? Not very helpful, I know.
Starting to think about the plan out there. Do you guys have any good advice on absolute must-do's while out there...from eating, bars, beers, gun ranges...can someone school me on a plan for 2 days? Thanks in advance for any guidance!
Get a high mount intercooler, then at the same time, grab the Hammer Performance @DoYouBronco winch mount set up at the same time. In fact, they can put the entire package together for you, soup to nuts.
Steps:
1) Replace under warranty
2) Get new top put on once it arrives
3) Drive home and list it as brand new on Facebook for $4,000
4) Buy a Turn Offroad hardtop
Hey guys! Confirmed heading up there from Charlotte with a Wrangler and possibly a LC250. We will get there around 2 on Friday Feb 27 and head back the 1st. Looking at 22, 26, 51, 11 and whatever else you guys might think would be fun. Hope to see you out there! 🤘🏼
