I feel this type of question is on par with the stolen fender/ stolen doors questions. Could these things happen? Absolutely. Are they likely to happen? No.
I believe in your situation you will have to take what you can get. It sounds like some unscrupulous import/export person snagged a bunch of US reservations and is going to turn a profit on them. I don't think Bronco was going to be released in your area until next year.

I voted til death, but I think the days of people keeping new vehicles forever are coming to an end. Too much technology to crap out. I imagine we'll be able to find drivetrain parts for a long time, but what about the creature comforts? For example: 40 years from now, will we be able to find...
