Glad you got it out of the woods and back to the dealer. That was the best move.
I do wonder if you (theoretically) could have installed an in-line out of tank fuel pump (like I have on my old jeep) just to get it out of there, or if the in tank failed pump would impede the flow of fuel...
I used to joke that no matter how much money you put into an old Jeep, you could never sell one for more than 14 thousand dollars.
At this point... I am hoping for the OJM (Old Jeep Mark UP) to offset the ADM - LOL.
Seriously though, where the hell is my Bronco!?
I bought a tank full of WATER or contaminated gas once (filled up, car suddenly died going down the road - shop said it looked like water and thought I had gotten bad gas). Same routine to flush it and change the plugs and it was o.k. - but the gas station denied any wrongdoing.

f you watch the old videos of CJs, intentionally driven to roll over by sawing the steering wheel right and left to find a sway resonance that quickly builds until the Jeep flips, you can see that the anti sway bars can indeed prevent a rollover on the pavement, in a solemn course situation...
I just got back from the Austin one. It was great and convenient for me and my youngest for a quick trip.
Flew in early Friday. Downtown Austin in close to the airport, so you have some time to check it out, get some bbq, and then drive about 50 minutes to the resort. The horseshoe bay...
I'm in, I have no need to race sportscars on the highway, or put a badge with how much horsepower my car has, and I watch the leadfooted dudes on the trails coming home with all kinds of vibrations from twisted axles, or getting towed from gunning it in the mud. The 2.3 MT is more my style -...
This reminds me of stories my Dad told, post War, when cars would come out with wooden bumpers and other crazy substitutes for whatever part was holding up production.
