You probably don't need to mount it in the grille where it will be susceptible to poor weather. It would work well anywhere under the hood.

One other thing. I bought a 2 door and took the roof rails off as soon as I got it home. I put them up for sale on this forum but had no bites. Maybe you could ask your Facebook friends if anyone is interested in them?
