Plus the current notion is performance parts will probably be available for the Bronco 2.7, maybe including a factory upgrade. Supposedly with the 2.7 its relatively easy to improve the performance.

Overlanding related question: the Bronco has a couple different kinds of shocks IIRC. How are folks planning on handling the extra weight in the back with all the gear, or maybe towing? Sumo springs? Whatever my next vehicle is, I want it American made as much as possible, that's one of my reasons for getting a new vehicle. I wont buy any new vehicle with a foreign made major part. If it turns out the Bronco auto trans is also foriegn made, I won't be getting a Bronco.

I don't think this forum is for calling other people names. I'm not a necessarily a proponent of any particular vehicle manufacturer. But some people do have a lot of enthusiasm for a particular vehicle or motorcycle, there's nothing wrong or dumb about that.

The 392 looks pretty good, I'll definitely consider it over a Bronco. I have absolutely no need of the 392, but it still would be lots of fun. Ford overall reliability though, much, much better than Jeep. Ford is #10 out of 32 vehicle manufacturers in the 2020 JD Powers survey, Jeep is #26.
