Totally agree. If you get an interest rate of 2.5%. You could easily get a greater return by investing that money. Say a conservative 6% return on that investment. Putting 10K down on a depreciating asset would lower your monthly payment, but cost you 3.5%.
Getrags are cold natured and this is normal and typical of them. Change to a quality oil like Amsoil or Redline. These oils won't completely stop it when cold, but they certainly help. Once warmed up it should go away. The notchiness you're feeling is the synchronizers. When you feel them, your...
Bumped again as of 11pm last night EST with a day 1 res.

Shouldn't make a difference. It's the same ratio in high range. There may be a small difference in the "seat of the pants" feel in 4H, due to all the extra moving parts with the front axle and driveshaft engaged.

I have an 08 FJ Cruiser Trail Teams in a 6spd manual. It's been pretty much "moth balled"...
This is an absolutely fantastic point. I hope Ford considered that, otherwise the vault may require some modification to allow access for the back-up key.
Idk what DCT fluid is but it doesn't belong in a manual, it was painful enough having to put ATF in Ford's older manuals.
It's for a Dual Clutch Transmission, and I agree it does not belong in a manual. Getrag Manual Transmissions are a bit finicky when cold. The MT82 6spd in the Mustang calls...
