I should add that I have the “slide out tailgate” as well. So the enclosure box will not go into my cargo area as the tailgate raises the floor about 3 inches and the box is built to go right on the floor of the cargo area. Also I tend to lay the seats down and use the space to haul larger...
I’ve seen this and do like it but it wouldn’t work for me due to limited height. Also I do not want the soft assist for a few different reasons. The biggest one being that after I mod the bar it wouldn’t raise the bar high enough and stop it from raising to were I want it to go. I was looking...
Perfect. Thanks. Not the solution to what I’m looking for as physical stops won’t let it get that high but most certainly will be helpful once I get to that point.
You are right. It’s close. I just lifted my bar until it hit the stops and it looks like it only needs about 3 more inches to get to where I’m shutting for. How much more throw do you think the AIG strut has in it? I’ll probably go with a strut once I get the bar to lift up more.
My current solution is to remove and grind the hinge portion of the back to allow a further stop point. (As seen in red in the picture) I’ll then just need to fabricate a rod that allows for 2 level because with the windows in it will not be able to go that high I believe.
I’ve had my Bronco for a week. Things will come. I like struts and will consider it once I get the bar to go up out of the way. I’ll just have to use my own strut because the height will be different (which is ok, I have access to assortments of them) I most certainly want the hood strut though...
My current solution
yea it’s not really a security issue as much as an ease of use issue. Plus I have the “slide out tailgate” from Ford (which I love) and don’t think the cargo box for the back would work with it. Thank you for your input though
I should add that I would absolutely love a hardtop locking cover. However I found my tools sit up pretty high and far back in the cab. I have been doing this out of the back of a Jeep for about 5 years and I’ve never had anything stolen. (Knock on wood)
My fear isn’t someone grabbing my Milwaukee packs, it’s something much easier to grab like my very expensive Fluke meter. I have a pull back soft toneau cover over the back coming today. If someone roots around sure they will find something but they could also just cut the hardtop. Also I should...
I believe I can remove and slightly grind a piece of the bracket stop point that acts as a hinge (on both sides. I’d imagine 1/4” of movement at the hinge will translate into several inches at the opening
Because the bar holds the latches the keep the whole rear of the top down. Plus I’m looking for a permanent simple solution that doesn’t require me to use tools when I could just simply lift the bar a little higher.
Seat belts are not adjustable up and down. I’m 6’ and if I lean left towards the door it comes across my neck. Could’ve easily been made to adjust up and down. #FAIL
I went from a 21’ Jeep 4Xe that I absolutely loved!! However if you get to place an order it is going to take at least a year to get. That part you can count on. If you find one on a lot you will most certainly pay for that. However the beauty with Jeeps is they hold their resale value really...
Thoughts wanted:
My goal is to get the soft top track/bar to raise as high as the top without the side/back windows in.
Back drop, I absolutely love my Bronco and I got every option I could that wouldn’t constrain the delivery. From order to driving it away took 10 months (plus 4 months of a...
Maybe I’m misunderstanding you but I reserved in 6/21, placed an order 10/21 and then was given a $1750 rebate towards my Bronco for the price difference of job2 when my Bronco arrived last month. No March reservation needed
