  1. Flat Tow failure

Did you have Ford pass on your phone when this happened?
  2. Flat Tow failure

Just found this. Read carefully and you will note it calls for towed vehicle to be in park! This is the code they are using to deny warranty! What is it Ford? Owners manual says leave in neutral. This says park so parking pall is engaged.
  3. Bronco Badlands or Jeep Gladiator for Flat Towing?

If you plan on towing bronco a lot you could do the tow dolly and driveshaft disconnect. Then you wouldn't have to unbolt driveshaft every time. About 1600 bucks for disconnect. I am starting to think this might be the best solution if you can't trailer it and don't trust neutral tow mode.
  4. Flat Tow failure

True, wish my motorhome could handle a trailer and the bronco but just too heavy. And the hassle at every campground.... We travel around 300 miles a day, stay for a few days, go another 300 or so. Flat towing is so simple. Don't know what I'd do with trailer at most of the campgrounds we've...
  5. Driveshaft Decoupling Device

Well, the elevated service request was a complete waste of time... he knew nothing about it. Basically just told me to follow owners manual. He could not give me any information at all as to number of failures due to flat towing. No info if they are looking into it. So thanks for nothin Ford...
  6. Flat Tow failure

How many failures have you counted. I was originally really freaked out about this but the more I look into it on the 3 forums I follow I can only identify 10 failures. At least 2 of those had dead batteries on arrival. No charge line. I am not saying that there is not a potential problem but...
  7. Driveshaft Decoupling Device

Yea, I actually have an elavated customer service request started. They are supposed to contact me next week. We haven't flat towed yet but I want to hear what they have to say about issue and the non warranty coverage.
  8. Driveshaft Decoupling Device

Yea, it won't work unless you unhook front shaft as well. No oil pumped in transfer case with rear driveshaft disconnected so output bearing on front shaft would cook from what I understand. So SuperDave, you was correct, dang you!😉
  9. Neutral Tow / Transmission Problem

Honesty definitely not the best policy...
  10. Driveshaft Decoupling Device

Thats a new driveshaft, all I have to do is bolt it in.. The guys are right though, it may not work if front shaft still attached. Back to sleep less nights! But seriously I'm going to research it as I have the advanced system and my motorhome can't haul that much weight.
  11. Driveshaft Decoupling Device

    You guys are just mean!🤣
  12. Driveshaft Decoupling Device

Just got off the phone with superior driveline. $1600 plus shipping. Gentleman told me it would be stout enough for offroad but didn't recommend rock crawling as unit is mounted to bottom side of differential. Wife and I were not going to rock crawl anyway so this is what I'm going to do. He...
  13. Driveshaft Decoupling Device

Has anyone installed a driveshaft decoupling device on their new bronco to get around potential flat tow related failures? I'm wondering if they would be robust enough for offroad. Only one I've looked at so far is Superior Driveline's unit. Not even sure I could get one that would work on the...
  14. Charging While Flat Towing

I would definitely have some type of charge system in place. Everything being electronic on these new broncos puts a bunch of draw on battery. Gremlins start popping up if battery gets low and last thing you want when you get to campground is problem with toad!
  15. Flat Tow failure

Yea no doubt, been researching this all night. I didn't realize there were so many wires going to motor so a switch would be out of the question. I'm starting to think its the low battery condition from a long tow thats causing the motor to engage the clutch. I just ordered a Bluetooth battery...
  16. Neutral Tow / Transmission Problem

Does anyone know the extent of this problem, i.e. how many vehicles has this happened to?
  17. Neutral Tow / Transmission Problem

Somebody else mentioned that as well but surmised the computer would probably freak out if you unplugged it. I am tempted to try it just to see what would happen. Seems everything should be sleeping by that point in the neutral tow mode. Got to do more research...
  18. Flat Tow failure

So I guess you were kidding about the unplugging the transfer case servo. I thought that sounded like a good idea before you brought up the computer freaking out, probably correct on that.
  19. Flat Tow failure

If it is related to the transfer case rein Seems wiring in a switch would be simple enough. One more thing to have to do when setting up to tow but sure would be less worry.
  20. Sasquatch OEM Goodyear “35s” vs Toyo M/T 35s

I would also like to know how the Toyos do on gravel roads as far as slinging said gravel onto side of Bronco.
