If I had to guess, 1 pedal proably depends on the electric brake booster, which the 2.3L does not have. The (current) 2.3L will likely never have Start and Stop ACC for the same reason, but it's possible someone can figure out how to do it in the 2.7L since it does have the electric brake booster.
