I replaced my B&O dsp with Mobridge and relocated it - so gimme all the enclosure space you can! Don't need the indent for the amp - I just need the box and a 10'' for my 2Door!
*warning - this is some driveway engineering*
I took it off the mounting plate so it would fit, and had to make a bit of a "cage" to hold it in place with some thick rubber offsets to press against the outer wall of the wheel well.
That area of the wheel well has a big "well" that drops down...
I'll strap as well (just for piece of mind) - and thinking that having the weight in front of the rear axles is probably preferable to being on top or slightly behind them on the rack... I dunno, I'm not an engineer.
Found out today that the ROAM 66L hard case can be mounted using the semi-perm rigid mounts and it will fit *exactly* lengthwise on the Turn Offroad half rack.
You can also use the adjustable mounting points on the back
Good news! The ROAM 66L case will fit exactly between the two supports in two different configurations using their bolt on semi-perm rigid mounts.
Option A: Centered on the back (this does well for my OCD - plus you can get to the case without a ladder by stepping up on the bumper). Pros: even...
GREAT! New fear unlocked... what is the limit? I think something like 125lbs right? Best to stay under 100!
I ordered a set of heavy duty straps from Rhino - between these and the rigid mounts for the ROAM case everything should be okay.
Naturally I'm looking forward to slapping the case and...
m8 x 1.25 - the stock ones are 20mm, but I ordered 25mm bolts to give some extra length for lock washers / etc when bolting on brackets.
Found these cage nuts - $10 for 10.

Also, 5min with the unibit and now the larger bolts fit in the ROAM rigid mounts - so win/win there.
The Mobridge is a very VERY cool little unit - it has an RCA pre-out that I ran underneath the padding to the JL Amp - and that signal fires up the sub - worked like a charm!
6x 150W Channels @ 4 ohms | 75W RMS
2x 300W Channels @ 4 ohms | 150W RMS
1x 500W Subwoofer Channel @ 4 ohms (or 800W @...
Well crap - no local hardware store has them - guess i have to turn to amazon.
And OF COURSE my ROAM rigid mounts are 1/4 inch holes and the cage nuts and bolts from Turn Offroad are larger (m8?) ...
Do you happen to know the bolt size / info for these?
Looked on Turn but of course it's just...
I started with replacing the dash with Focals and the kickers with JL, replaced the factory sub with an 8'' kicker .....but it just wasn't enough and finally bit the bullet and re-replaced everything with Morels and the Mobridge DSP and upgraded to larger 6.5'' pods in the back.
Also decided...
Cage nuts! Thank you - had no idea what these things were called or if they were proprietary.
I bet Ace's Hardware here would have them - thanks for the tip!
Hey! Found your link on the Turn Offroad www site. I just installed the same half rack myself and just ordered a ROAM case (66L) to mount on top. How are you mounting things to your rack? Or are you just using straps to temporarily put stuff up there for trips?
I just sent Turn an email asking...
