I wanted to post my first attempt at this. Keep in kind I've never tried sound deadening before. I took it slow and tried not to damage anything or cover up things that might be important. I started with the drivers side footwell. I was trying to reduce engine noise coming into the cabin...
I want to tackle this project myself for my 4-door OBX. Part of my issue are noises from the engine bay. Mostly injector noise from the drivers side, and an odd resonating noise from the passenger side (only occasionally). So I wanted to start with putting the butyl and foam in the foot well...
Thanks for you help, I am at work all day for the next few days so I'll have to wait until this weekend. Hopefully its just a bolt needing the be tightened. Its rather annoying having to hear this popping noise everytime I turn to the right. Once while turning, and then again when my weight...
Good morning!
My seat makes a popping noise everytime I turn right and my weight shifts in the seat pushing it to the outside. I think a bolt is loose on the metal arms that adjust the seat underneath. I pulled the seat with my arm and tried to look underneath. I think there is some play...
Good morning,
I have been having this issue where there is a loud humming noise coming from the turbo side of the motor. It's very pronounced at idle. It will resonate inside the cabin. It is not the radiator fans as it is present even when they are not running. This happens once the Bronco...
I am interested in doing something like this as well. I get this really annoying humming noise at idle. I think it may be the radiator fans but its making the cabin resonate from how loud this humming is.
Another member and I are working on using a wireless microphone in the engine bay to locate and record the noise. Seems like thats the only way they will acknowledge it. I showed them a video of my Nest camera showing my alarm going off saying the hood has been opened. Its happening a lot...
Right, and its like how is this happening on so many stock motors? I've been running 93 since the 1st fill-up. It makes no difference. Also put a little E85 in as well, no difference. I am going to do an oil change myself shortly just because. Its at about 2k miles. Im going to get a strong...
Does it make a metallic rattling noise around 2-3k RPM under moderate acceleration? That's my issue. Its not idle noise, it's when under load. Its pretty alarming.
Would you be able to assist me as well? My dealer won't acknowledge the pronounced rattle under acceleration. It. Is. Not. Normal. I don't even think they test drove it whe. I took it in.
The difference in the 2.3l is pretty weak. That's disappointing. Aftermarket tune would wake it up a lot more. But you have to be willing to give up the factory warranty for that.
Did you ever find out anymore about the rattles? Both my Ranger and 1k mile Bronco do it. I only run 93 and it only happens under load. Its incredibly annoying! How can this not be a known issue with so many of us having this issue.
I agree that it would have been nice for a different answer, but considering the Ranger has a different transmission I suppose its definitely not that. And my Ranger never had any smoke, rough idle, lose of power, loss of MPG, nothing. So maybe it really is just the wastegate rattling? It...
I had that noise on my Ranger that I traded for my Bronco and it was driving me nuts. And here I am with 1k miles on my 2.3l Bronco, and it does the same damn thing. It's not as pronounced thankfully. I had a loud exhaust in the Ranger and could still hear it.
Nothing was out of the ordinary...
