It's totally up to your sound preferences to fill the speaker pods. Most people do not fill them but if you have a preferred sound then go for it!

Hi Andrew, Unfortunately the sub will not work with any cargo covers. Since our sub sits on top of the wheel well it will get in the way of any type of cargo covers. Sorry.

Unfortunately there is not an option on Kickers end to replace that grill but you may be able to find a universal waffle style grill on amazon. Search up 6.5" Waffle grill but make sure the mounting points will work too. Sorry wish I could help more with that.
