  1. Naming My Bronco

‘Used to have a ferrier (farrier now?) who named his 2 turkeys Thanksgiving and Christmas. They were gone after the holidays 🤔 edit: maybe I’ll name my Bronco “In a Ditch” or “Off the Cliff”.
  2. Adding a hardtop - options?

Am I the only one smelling something odd with this? ...waiting to see if a hard top sales opportunity happens to come up soon. skeptape6921
  3. Whaaaat! This hurts. A little.

That sticker is like pointing out objects of mass will remain as they are unless acted on by a force…. It goes without saying 😉 I currently have mine as a three-seater for times I’m feeling generous to give rides. Haven’t raised that rear seat yet! Hahaha. Wait, or is it that no one has...
  4. OEM Tire Lugs

Just gave mine a once over. All ok The sharp rocks I put my OEMs over are usually not large and fixed like those in your photos, but smaller and can roll and give a bit. maybe 🤷🏻‍♂️
  5. Two Door Tuesday Lets See Them Two Doors

I love the HEAT DOME effect in your photo!!! 'looks like your Bronco is cookin' under a broiler. :whew:
  6. First trail shakedown. Otay Mtn, Anza-Borrego Desert, Ocotillo Wells

Thanks for the advice. I usually have traction control turned off, just because I don't want to sense anything odd while I'm driving. For example, I'm still not used to anti-lock brakes. Lemme rethink the emergency situation with this high center of G (mass) vehicle while on...
  7. First trail shakedown. Otay Mtn, Anza-Borrego Desert, Ocotillo Wells

Just watched this video. 'haven't seen it before, at first thought these guys were gonna be weird, but I liked most of what they said.... all but the part of having traction control off is for highly skilled drivers. I usually turn it off but; me a "highly skilled driver"? HaHa ha ha! 🤣😆.
  8. First trail shakedown. Otay Mtn, Anza-Borrego Desert, Ocotillo Wells

I understand your feelings well about getting back off the pavement and away from city lights. I’ve spent many a starry night out in Borrego and Ocotillo; ‘87 Cherokee (stayed away from Comp Hill, haha). One thing: maybe someone else here can explain the traction control settings while in...
  9. We fixed the Ford Bronco's biggest problem... 🚙

I thought the biggest problem was neither the number of doors nor drawers in the Bronco, but the outrageous number of integrated chips and circuit boards to be relied on. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  10. Air pressure question

Use your experience about tire pressures to run. Remember, if you split an innertube after taking a bitchin jump, then your pressure was too low. If you split a dried-up old sidewall after pumping up by really leaning on the pump handle, then your pressure was too high. Oh, back to Broncos...
  11. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

I thought about something like these, but too many have been stolen off my bikes and Jeep in the past. Thanks for the suggestion, though!
  12. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

To avoid feeling stupid while sometimes having to look around each of my wheels 2 or 3 times for the valve stem, I've added some, "right here, ya dumb s#!t" indicators using nail polish. I also split more kindling to add to the stacks of firewood I have in the garage. Ready for fire ring...
  13. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

Nice! I remember when they used to launch full-sized gliders there with tow cables powered by an old car or truck engine. They had to yell at us dumb kids to get out of the way for take-offs and landings. There were no crowds on the beach below for on "emergency" landing I saw once, then...
  14. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

Tow Strap, Bow Saw, Bottle Opener with MOLLE attachments? Luhh-Kee! (I like what you did!) I went to some local forest roads the other day to test my advanced food storage and service systems. I think I need to work on them a little more.
  15. Does anyone know what thread this ground bolt uses?

'got the same thing. I had a spare nut that happened to fit when I installed this bracket, and just measured it to be M6 x1.0 per Mitutoyo (caliper) -- if this helps anyone. This is where I quickly clamp my MORRflate.
  16. 2025 Badlands Permanent Seatbelt Warning while Parked?

Mine does the same. PITA, having to get all set up as if to drive just to check something like tire pressure.
  17. Factory holes in the muffler?

Dang it. I thought those were interior heater vents that were missing air lines into the rear cargo area. I repaired it last month. o_O
  18. MPG - Why so bad?

My milage keeps going down too, about 5mpg to 7mpg lower than the first 3,000 miles. No matter how careful I drive or road conditions. :curse: OTA updates or something? I have the OEM rack, and took the first cross bar off -- no MPG change. (I have the cross bar off because I am working on...
  19. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

Quick DIY soft shackle, 60 second job. 'had some 20-year-old 1/2 inch sailing line (the good braided stuff), and tied this shackle. I'll count on it to have: 30 lb Working Load 35 lb Ultimate Breaking :inspect: Probably stronger, but the line is over 20 years old .... what the heck, something...
  20. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

Yeah, I did my usual half-ass job of hosing the main area under the flares, but didn't get it too well, like to the narrow places of those open cylindrical areas by the turn tabs. I now have another 1/4 pound of dirt from 3 states out on the driveway, .
