  1. Cousin Eddie's Build Journal

I figured I'd start a thread to document my build. I'll edit this post as Items are added or removed. I'll add a couple of posts below for thought on other components. Feel free to post comments or suggestions... Starting point 07/09/2021: 2021 Ford Bronco Badlands, Sasquatch, 4-door, 10sp...
  2. Sasquatch for On-Road Guy?

I have just about 6k miles on my 4 door Badlands, Sasquatched, 2.7. I have a 64 mile round trip commute I make 4 days a week. 50 of those miles are highway. I'm averaging about 16.5 mpg. I haven't had a truck in 20 years and I forgot how stiff the suspension can be. I also forgot how a tall...

I spoke with a buddy of mine who is a game warden. He told me I'm good to drive on the roads but don't go onto anything that looks like a quad or atv trail or try to make my own trail. That would be a hefty fine. In general, they are similar to a fire road, but every now and then, I've come...
  4. Anyone planning to install two way radio (either Ham, CB or other?)

I made up this bracket a couple of months ago. I of course cleaned it up and painted it. It was a combination of measuring and eye-balling for the fab. I used foam weather stripping to pad it up where it needed it. I'll get some pics of it installed a little later today.
  5. Fender Flare Staining...

I just want to clarify. The grey you see in the pictures is staining, not fading. I'm nervous to use any aggressive cleaning methods (because then I'll have fading!). Thanks for all of the suggestions. Once I get them clean, I'm going to protect them.

I just found this out recently... The PA Game Commission opens up seasonal roads during hunting season. Roads typically open 2 weeks before archery and close after muzzle loader. TBH, I wouldn't drive the roads during any rifle season but Archery should be OK...
  7. Fender Flare Staining...

Is anyone else having issue with cleaning the fender flairs? I have a Badlands, squatched. No mods. Rocks and dirt get kicked up, and yes, I have paint chipping and marks on the fender flairs and door handles but I can't get the fender flairs clean. I use a car wash mit usually and the last...
  8. Talk me out of (or into) a Gladiator Mojave

I picked up my Badlands (squatched, 2.7, Lux), in early July. It is a monster to drive! I've had it offroad (nothing crazy but more than just a dirt game lands road). Mostly through mud. Had a couple of instances where I got nervous I was going to get stuck. Put it in 4lo, locked the diffs...
  9. Squatch tire pressure based on real world miles?

I'm at 5500 mi. Tire pressure at 40psi. Without detailed measuring, the wear looks pretty even side to side but the rear definately looks more worn than the front.

    Area 51, nice!
  11. AREA 51 Bronco Club

Finally got around to taking the doors off...
  12. Final Update: Boys, I might have to do it. Talk me off the cliff. Final Choice is clear

Here's my take... Wait it out. It is worth it. I took delivery July 11th, put over 4000 miles on it and love every second I get to drive it (see signature for build). Probably 1/4 of the miles commuting to work, another 1/4 driving to and from vacation, another 1/4 driving to game lands and...
  13. My husband @elmystico is now riding with Albert too....

I am sorry for your loss. I'm sure he's riding with Albert!
  14. Installed 33 inch tires on stock Base rims - no mods required

Just curious what USB-OBD2 adapter you are looking at here? I came across this and am considering it.... https://www.veepeak.com/product/obdcheck-ms/
  15. Has anyone tried the trail maps yet?

Just curious where you heard this. I've been poking every Ford rep I can and can't get an answer.
  16. Speedometer Not Matching with GPS Speed

Ah, I see your point. But it would come down to where the source of the error is. Is it in the "Signal A" or is it in the algorithm to compute the distance or speed. If it is in one of the algorithms, then one can be off while the other is correct. If it is in the signal A, both speed and...
  17. Speedometer Not Matching with GPS Speed

Or an indicated 60 miles but actually driven 58.5 miles. Indicated miles will be higher than what is actually driven.
  18. Soft top rubbing and wearing paint on Bronco roll bar [updated with TSB Fix]

Not sure about jwvice but for me it is definitely when opening and closing.
  19. Speedometer Not Matching with GPS Speed

So wouldn't they be getting a 3% bump on how much warranty they have to cover? It would be interesting to see statistics on how many warranty claims are made at every thousand miles as well as how much an average warranty claim is at each thousand miles.
