  1. why NOT to get a roof top tent

At 73 there is no way in hell I am going to try to climb that ladder barefoot in the dark to take a piss, and don't even mention it to my wife! This is why I tow my off road fun behind a Class A motorhome with all the goodies. Park, set up camp (easy with push button everything) unhook the...
  2. why NOT to get a roof top tent

HAHA! that's funny, you do know a grizzly can rip that thing right off the top of your truck! In AK I saw one rip the door off of a truck to get to some food.
  3. MAP not down for 2 weeks?

    My Dealer is down 400!
  4. I need an etiquette clarification...

True that, I was at Richardson for 3 years, and you can need bright lights at any time, a 1500 lb Moose will just ruin your day!
  5. For those that have purchased a "temp" vehicle?

This, I did the same, I may end up keeping the Ranger as my 2 door BL won't have much cargo room :)
  6. Roseville Future Ford

That's a good question, the Sport would have worked well for us also, except its not towable at all. A 2019 Ranger 4X4 off road in good condition with low mileage is going for around 30K, so it is holding value as of now.
  7. For those that have purchased a "temp" vehicle?

This is the same thought process that led me to just purchase a new Ranger 4X4 Off Road Crew, the price I paid for new (with d-plan) was LESS than some dealers one year old used Ranger, go figure. Is it a crawler, no, but it will make a great desert runner with a few mod's. Almost 10" of GC and...
  8. First look at production F-150 Lightning EV. 2021 Broncos make a cameo

Zero Motorcycles claims 112 on the Hwy, and 223 in the city with a combined range of 150 miles. I test rode one once, weird to have all that torque and acceleration without any noise.
  9. Roseville Future Ford

That's what I figured, I needed another tow vehicle, and with D-Plan I got it cheap enough that I might even break even in 12-18 months when I trade it in on the Bronco, especially if used truck prices stay the way they are! As it's the 4X4 Off Road crewcab w/sport pkg it should hold value well.
  10. Roseville Future Ford

I have D-Plan, so wasn't much they could do, all together got 10K off MSRP with incentives. And the finance guy was NOT happy with all of my 'NO' answers :)
  11. Which engine and transmission after 10r60 announcement

Even the Ranger gets the 10R60 next year, glad I got a '21 with the 10R80, not worried about the Bronco as I don't plan on tuning the 2.7 when I get it.
  12. This is Insane!!!

Fixed it, was the multi layer photo from the markup.
  13. This is Insane!!!

Stopped in at the dealer to sign the deal for my Ranger and saw this....
  14. Tow Shackle size.

Interesting, a 1 1/8 gap would normally be for a 1" pin, and you measures 7/8", that would make for a 1/4" of free space when mounted. Lots of rattle room, if this is the case will need nylon bushings on both sides for the tow hook up unless the tow bar adapters are a closer tolerance.
  15. That’s it I need to rant

Recieved my D-Plan pin from Ford, headed out to get a check and do the paperwork drill, part I hate!
  16. That’s it I need to rant

I actually really like it, seems to be the perfect combo of size, power, and towing capacity for a non 'serious' truck guy, and it's flat towable! Last truck was a 87 Chevy.
  17. That’s it I need to rant

Still getting the Bronco, but it will be late next year at least. Yes I will tow the Ranger, @ 4200 lbs its 800 lighter than the BL. I will trade it in on the Bronco when the time comes. BlueOx has a baseplate (BX2679 $532) that I can install myself, along with the supplemental brakes & lights...
  18. That’s it I need to rant

I test drove.... and bought, a 21 Ranger Crewcab 4X4 off road yesterday, the acceleration is strong with this one, 21/26 mpg, 7500lb tow, seats 5, and the price was right. I have a very late Bronco time stamp due to a screw up so am looking at late 22 or early 23 and this will tide me over.
  19. Anybody else thinking about cancelling if their build estimate is 2022?

Why I got a 21 Ranger FX4 Off Road to hold me over, it is 4200 lbs and flat towable.
  20. Anybody else thinking about cancelling if their build estimate is 2022?

I was actually surprised at how much room I had, got the Sport Off Road package, wanted a bit more 'Lux' but i got such a good deal couldn't pass on it, guy just kept adding incentives and knocking down the price. Finance guy was a bit surprised when I told him D-Plan :) took another 3K off.
