  1. TriggerTX

    Central TX Bronco Club

I moved my reservation from Mac Haik when they wouldn't return calls or answer questions. Six weeks after I moved it they finally responded to my first questions. I feel like I made a good choice.
  2. First look at Bronco Overland Concept at OKC Auto Show

OKC is a bit for for a day trip from Austin so hopefully I'll finally catch one in the wild. They seem to keep filming in and around here I just keep missing them. Buddy of mine worked on Futurliner #3 while working at Kindig Restorations. You might know it from being featured on the show...
  3. Dealership "Bronco Specialists" to Attend Off-Roadeo in Austin Starting March 1, 2021

Application sent. I found on her page a call that went out just 10 days ago so maybe not too late. Fingers crossed.
  4. Dealership "Bronco Specialists" to Attend Off-Roadeo in Austin Starting March 1, 2021

Thanks! It's from December but maybe it's not too late. I'll drop them a line.
  5. How can you pass this up?

I'm in the same place. 10-15 years from retirement. I keep vehicles a looooong time so it's likely the last new ICE vehicle I'll ever buy. So I'm going all out. Badlands, 2.7, Squatch, Lux, leather, and if it's available in time, an actual kitchen sink. Yes, that's getting close to $60k. The...
  6. Ford confirms a green 2022 Bronco color for MY22! *Not Filson Wildland Fire Rig Green*

Yep. '94 NAS. I really miss it some days. Which is why I'd love a green Bronco.
  7. Ford confirms a green 2022 Bronco color for MY22! *Not Filson Wildland Fire Rig Green*

Mallard Green is close enough to my D-90 that I'd wait for '22MY to get it. Most other shades and I'll take a '21.
  8. Live Q&A with Badlands Bronco

Towards the end of the latest video they show the Oxford White Badlands on top of a ridgeline. It's possible that's on or near Wildcat Mountain at Hidden Falls. I couldn't get a clear shot from the video. I'm including a pic of my old RR Classic up there for comparison. The views from there are...
  9. Live Q&A with Badlands Bronco

It's a pretty good park run by good people. Ask me some stories about some early trips/adventures out there around a campfire some time. If you, or anyone else here, are ever in the area and need a spotter on the trail, drop me a line. I'm always happy to spend a day on the trails.
  10. Live Q&A with Badlands Bronco

Looks about right. Nice spot. I hadn't had time to start digging. :) I still believe the Roadeo will be at Hidden Falls. I really hope so. That's like 30 mins from my place. I helped cut some of the trails there before they were even open or an 'Adventure Park'. I've guided more trips there...
  11. Live Q&A with Badlands Bronco

I've been in Austin over 25 years and wheeled every little spot that was even semi-publicly accessible in a 50 mile radius but I just can't place where the hell they are. It's driving me batty that they won't pan the camera all the way around. All I've got is that house on the ridge to go by...
  12. Should Ford implement limited custom color program?

Let me choose from this palette for $2k and I'm in for Highland Green. Why does the Bronco get so many shades of grey and not more fun ones like the Mustang? Hell, I'll take one painted just like this. Gimme dem stripes!
  13. Should Ford implement limited custom color program?

I was torn between Traffic Purple, Irish Green, or Cliff Green. Now the rarer colors are already selling for $10K over original MSRP on the secondary market.
  14. Should Ford implement limited custom color program?

Good point. Black could be better. But I'll never own a black car. They are too hard to keep clean.
  15. Should Ford implement limited custom color program?

I've given thought to wraps. If I did go that way I'd pick Oxford White as the base color as it's easiest to work with. A bit of white here and there peeking out is easy to deal with than say Cyber Orange parts.
  16. Bronco Wave?

I used to wave to all the Rovers when I had mine. As for the finger lift in Texas. The unspoken rule around the roads I ride is, two fingers for someone you know, four fingers/hand for a stranger. It was a weird observation I made decades ago and it holds up pretty well. And I don't know why.
  17. Ford finally got me....

I've heavily offroaded both. I've managed to be on the cover of magazines in both. Neither is inherently 'better' offroad. The truck you take further offroad than the lawn at your kid's soccer match is the right one. I'll be a heretic and say "Choose what makes you happy. There's no wrong...
  18. Should Ford implement limited custom color program?

Volkswagen managed a 45 color palette on the 2019 Golf R, the 5 normal colors plus 40 limited edition ones. Almost tempted me into trading in my 2013 to get a new color. It wasn't a huge upcharge, $2500. For my choice of 40 custom colors on my Bronco I could just about justify that.
  19. More Off-Roadeo Locations announced: Moab, Vermont, Nevada (in addition to Austin)

I sure hope so. I helped cut many of the trails out there before the place opened. It's very near my place. I used to wheel and camp out there at least one weekend a month, more in the cooler weather. I have the owner's number. I should call and ask.
  20. Compared to a Defender - some general thoughts and concerns.

I'm a bit partial to Rovers. Having once had 5 in the driveway. Yeah, I'm a glutton for punishment. To me, the new Bronco is what the New Defender should/could have been. What the new D90/110 should really have been called is a Discovery. And the Defender name saved for something more...rugged...
