Are these exact replacements of the stock letters, I have purple covers I have on the stock letters that I would like to put back onto them. Because it looks like the light is a full letters width behind the actual letter, it should work, right?

Not sure what you mean by add nearly 6 square feet of storage space. You mean lose 3 square feet so this shelf can be here whereas before you had the ability to put things 3 feet tall but now you’re limited to 18” tall below the shelf and 12” on top it?
