Marginally unrelated but now you've made me pine for an updated Ford 300-6! Such a good engine. Would be super neat to see what Ford could do with the 300-6 with modern technology. It'll never happen but man it'd be cool if it did! Those things were absolutely bulletproof.
I knew about the stock holder eligibility but didn't realize it was 100 shares until recently (I've only got 20). I'll probably go for the Mustang club option when the time comes. Who knows, maybe by the time I can afford it there will already be some sitting on the lot!
I wouldn't say I'm necessarily disappointed at all. For the most part I'm over the moon for this thing, so much that I cancelled my Day 1 Tesla Cybertruck reservation to jump in line for the Bronco.
Did I want the 2.7 with the manual? Sure. I'll be fine with the 2.3 though. But it's a decision...
I think this depends on how they've designed the system; I know one of the Audis I've owned had to be walnut blasted every 60k, but the direct injection systems since then (mine was an '07) have since added injectors above the valves as well specifically to avoid the coking issues.
Full disclaimer: I realize this combination is basically a guaranteed not-gonna-happen but hey it's fun to dream.
- 2 Door, hard top
- 2.7TT + Manual plugin hybrid with 30 miles electric only range (can have a gear marked "E" like they're doing for crawler gear for selecting a single...
At the very least I'd assume that the provisions for the drains will at least be stamped into the floors, which should make modifying a non-hose-it-out optioned Bronco into one with drains relatively trivial - though I'd still prefer to order one with the drainage provisions.
Current plan is to go for the least expensive 7-speed model I can get with lockers. Was really hoping for a base + Sasquatch + Cyber Orange but we all know how that turned out.
That being said, as much as I'm dying to go 7-speed I may end up waiting it out for a bit to see if / when the plugin...
As much as I'm itching for a 2-door with the manual I'm very seriously considering waiting it out to see if/when the Bronco plugin hybrid is coming. Would love to be able to commute / putter around town on EV mode and have the range to do long trips / overlanding with the engine. I'd definitely...
Sharing our '96 Explorer with 250k on the clock between myself and the Mrs. - ready to go back to a multi vehicle family soon.
Had a day-1 reservation for a Cybertruck; I cancelled it and went for a reservation for a 7-speed 2-door Black Diamond.
