  1. 7/24/23 Build Week

Do you still have the Oil? If so you can get it analyzed for less than $50. It would surprise me if my oil appeared dark with less than 1K miles.
  2. UAW goes on strike @ MAP Bronco / Ranger factory [ADMIN WARNING: NO INSULTS, NO POLITICS]

I was born in the 50s. Both of my parents worked, and that wasn’t uncommon. Of those single house hold incomes typically consisted of a single car(no air, manual windows, no power steering, ect), small homes without central air. The point being that life in the 60s was more simple and...
  3. MAP Plant for Bronco is the Ford One for the UAW Stand Up strike

Fain is forcing them to layoff everyone else hoping the rest can collect unemployment. Sorry to hear it.
  4. Strike Impacts - Orders & Production, '24 MY Change Over

Sure it is some degree of JIT, but you seem to think the window is tighter than what would be practical. Logistics would require constant storing/staging of components at the assembly plant. This is all part of the scheduling process. Once you are scheduled, all components are scheduled to be...
  5. Strike Impacts - Orders & Production, '24 MY Change Over

First good luck on getting your blend next week. I like your chances. If you don’t want to believe the constraint report indicates that the drive trains for scheduled orders are secured, I don’t know what more to say. The report clearly indicates that there is an overstock of both engines...
  6. Ripple effect.. solidarity amongst unions

Good new is Mexico is in America. You bought American made tires after all.
  7. My parents raised me better than this…

Man , I didn’t even notice the ducks, but my wife did. She kept asking me about the ducks, but didn’t even know what she was talking about. I never pay attention to anything going on in the cab of other rides. Yesterday we were riding together, which we rarely do, and she pointed out ducks on...
  8. Ripple effect.. solidarity amongst unions

What is the percentage of teamsters hauling vehicles vs independents?
  9. Strike Impacts - Orders & Production, '24 MY Change Over

Interesting article. It appears that UAW leadership has not dropped the 32 hour work week, or if it has this article failed to report it. The wage increase is one of 8 issues. The offered increase is to frame the Manufactures in a good light with their share holders, they know the UAW is more...
  10. Strike Impacts - Orders & Production, '24 MY Change Over

My experience at large auto OEM plants is limited to building them. However, we all have access to great resources right here at Bronco6G (https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/latest-bronco-production-key-commodity-constraints-total-retail-unscheduled-orders-9-5-23.80893/unread) . This...
  11. Strike Impacts - Orders & Production, '24 MY Change Over

All engines and transmissions have already been procured for anyone Scheduled. As long as the assembly continues to run, the scheduled builds will be completed for MY23. Now MY24 is another story, but no order for MY24 has been scheduled yet.
  12. Strike Impacts - Orders & Production, '24 MY Change Over

It is good to see they have dropped the 32 hour work week . The Leadership is being raked over the coals already. The strategic isolated plant strike was floated around a few weeks back. It would give the UAW the ability to strike longer , or provide supplemental pay longer. But this...
  13. When do orders typically get moved to next MY?

You need to find another dealer. Odds are your dealer didn’t have the allocation to get your order scheduled. MY23 orders are not moved over to MY24. You have to order MY24 new.
  14. Strike Impacts - Orders & Production, '24 MY Change Over

UAW leadership will be judged on getting the 32hour work accepted. They will not budge on this until a majority of the membership balks on this demand. That will take a lot of economic pain on both parties before we see a resolution. None of the companies can survive, be competitive with...
  15. Strike Impacts - Orders & Production, '24 MY Change Over

The strategy of singling out one Company has more to do with the fact that the UAW would have 9 months vs 3 months of supplemental pay for members on strike. I doubt any offer is serious at this time. They know a strike is imminent. Serious offers won’t be on the table until union members are...
  16. Strike Impacts - Orders & Production, '24 MY Change Over

Yep the UAW has a good hand right, but they will over play it. Right now the leadership has over 90% support. It will take months of missed paychecks for the membership to pressure the leadership to settle .
  17. Can a dealer "redo" sales contract AFTER you sign?

All contracts are based on the concept of a meeting of the minds. In this case both parties entered into the contract with the understanding that there was a rebate of value. As it turns out both parties were wrong. There is no rebate value. The contract can be nullified. The question...
  18. Give a shout out to your dealership if they honored MSRP pricing

World Ford Pensacola sold at MSRP. Plus they held my Bronco 5 days beyond our contract (12 days total) due to me being out of town. They could have legally sold it, and kept my deposit. They were great to work with. They did offer me to split $6k markup from another interested buyer. At...
  19. 7/24/23 Build Week

The key to better fuel mileage on any vehicle is RPM. If I keep my HD2500 Chevy below 1800 rpm throughout acceleration I get 24mpg. That truck is over 6500lbs and has more wind resistance than the Bronco. It is a diesel, but the same applies to gasoline motors. Wind resistance is relatively...
  20. Strike Impacts - Orders & Production, '24 MY Change Over

The UAW could strike all 3 or just strike 1 of the three, or strike some plants of each. The UAW has 3 months of strikes benefits if it is an all out strike. Their demands will not be meet or even close. Some sort of strike is going to occur. I expect this one to last 5 to 6 months, maybe...
