I am not sure Ford would be a viable defendant, since under your scenario, they did not deny a claim and may not have known about it. I do not know if you would have a claim against Ford under an agency theory, but may be possible grounds.

Albert told me of a $500 deposit well before I switched to Granger back in January, so nothing hidden. I imagine whoever made that claim is not going through Granger, and probably a shady dealer himself or herself...why else would you spread such falsehood?
