When I bought my 2003 Cobra on x-plan, the dealer tried to add on a couple fees. Luckily for me, the x-plan pin provider (ford employee) was there and called bullshit on them. The x-plan price was what was listed on the sheet and nothing more. That was the first time ford offered rebates on...
My limited understanding of direct injection in the USA is that you get soot from the burn because the mixture is somewhat stratified. That can build up carbon on the piston and chamber. In the USA, the emissions limit on particulate is about 100 times lower than europe so American market...
On the rear of the bronco the jack just has to get to the axle tube. On the front, maybe there will be a spot on the lower control arm? A wrangler is easy--axle tubes all the way around.
I drive around on the road with 33" KO2s on my wrangler (load range D). The stated tire size is 34x10.5, but they measure 33". Many 35x12.5 tires don't measure more than 34" when mounted. I like pizza cutters or tall thin tires. The weight and noise and crappy wear on 12.5" and other wide...
I assume the red button is an underhood fire suppression system, because burning up your prototype and test vehicle and not knowing why is bad times.
Wonder if that's ever happended before...
If you park in a parking garage or your home garage has a low door, you may want to find out the height of a Sasquatch bronco before you buy one. I know some superduty 4x4 owners who can't fit their stock trucks in their garages. A lot of the full size trucks with 5" lifts and 35s come close to...
No reservations here. Knowing several ford employees over the years who worked on lines, prototypes, and in engineering, I have always been told to avoid the first year of any model. On top of that, if they're in high demand and priced accordingly, I don't want one until everything has calmed...
I put rock krawler solid upper and lower control arms, track bars, multirate springs, pushed the rear axle back an inch, and lifted my 2015 wrangler around 2.5 inches. It definitely made it better offroad, especially with the rancho 9000 series adjustable shocks. I think a lot of poor handling...
All the JK jeep wranglers always spin the front axles and driveshaft. Jeep added a passenger side axle disconnect on the JL that saves some fuel economy. They tried it before in the past, and some people are breaking the axle offroad, just like in the past.
To gripe some more, my 2015 JKR also has the Alpine speaker upgrade with the base radio. It's the best stereo I've ever had from the factory. It looks like Bronco requires the Lux package to get the best speaker setup, and that is of course packaged with adaptive cruise control and a bunch of...
Most of the car manufacturers have left me behind. I want the powerful drivetrain without all the expensive fluff. They want to sell the fluff for profit, and they only package the powerful drivetrain with the fluff (see ford sport models). I'm glad I bought my 2015 JKR when they sold the...
If it's really hot or really cold, even the front seat of a wrangler with a soft top is uncomfortable, especially at highway speeds. Ice missiles really suck in a soft top too. Man, people are soft these days. You all need to go on the Saitama training regimen for three years. ;)
Ok, Genos. ;) I hate leather seats. Cloth seats are much preferred in cold and hot for me. I bought my first car with heated seats this year, and I never use them. The drivetrain is the most important thing to me on the Bronco, and so far that's not going well.
I don't have any brand biases other than avoiding ones that demonstrate poor reliability in my first hand experience. Everything is clickbait these days. Most of the forums I used to visit are owned by vertical scope now and promote constant posting to generate ad revenue. The forums I like...
I love cloth. Doesn't burn in the summer, doesn't freeze in the winter, and it holds ones flatulence to enjoy later. :D I prefer not to have heated or cooled seats. Less weight, complexity, crap to go wrong. I like manual transmissions too. Go figure.
I have a real hate for driving automatics (control freak), so it's just not an option for me. I switch between a rubicon with a 6 speed manual and an STI with a 6 speed manual for daily driving. I especially can't stand automatics in traffic, which is the exact opposite of most drivers...
I wonder if it's for fuel economy ratings or torque rating on the manual transmission? The thing I hate most about automatics today is the torque management along with always hunting the highest gear for fuel economy. Torque management on manuals like my wrangler and subaru and the 2015...
And you're wrong. My 2015 JK Rubicon has manual windows, manual locks, cloth seats, soft top, no u-connect or bluetooth, no navigation, no power seats, no touch screen, no satellite radio, etc. I've had lots of people on trails tell me they didn't know you could get a rubicon without all the...
That's how I feel too. My 2015 JKR Wrangler is a base with the rubicon package. Too bad ford couldn't offer something similar, but they always hide the good stuff under layers of overpriced stuff I don't want.
I've owned a lot of different cars and trucks. I test drove an Edge sport with the 2.7TT V also. there's a huge difference in everyday driving with the torque of the 2.7TT versus the 2.3T.
If you follow the mustang forums, the 10 speed auto 10R80 makes a GT mustang much faster at the drag...
