Love this thread! I was looking for a set of kidney beans/slot mags but it doesn't look like it's going to happen without a ton of poke. So, this is what I'm eyeballing currently...
The is the only thing worth mentioning and the only one that actually sees the inside of the garage:
It's a short bed 2wd '66 F-100 that was custom ordered from the factory in Silver Frost with the heavy duty 352/NP435/Dana 60 drivetrain and high load capacity rear springs. The PO swapped in...
That's amazing, I can count on one finger the number of times I have gotten a competitive auto loan rate from USAA. I've been a customer for years and have great credit, apparently I've been hitting them on their bad days. 🙄
Thank you for confirming I'm not losing all my marbles. I've seen both colors in person and there's a distinct difference in my opinion. The black is just so much "deeper". Your pictures in the sunlight would show the blue if that were the actual color.
I've used Rislone and MMO (I'm old school) with Royal Purple HPS in my '65 Lincoln motor and they do a great job of keeping the valve train quiet, but that's a very different animal than the 2.3. I wouldn't bother unless you're really skimping on the oil change itself.
2 door Shadow Black BD FTW!!! Congrats, I have a very similar build scheduled for 1/31 so I appreciate your post. I feel like this is also one of the least common combinations because you just don't see it anywhere which is just fine by me.
Yes and yes! It was my personal experiment with the 2 door and hardtop constraints and it totally backfired. Not that it's a bad thing, just not what I expected. We're still not sure what is going to happen with the second one though.
Me too. I finally received emails from Ford yesterday afternoon that both my BDs are scheduled for 1/31. I've known my res was there for a while now but only had suspicions about my second order. 🥳
Did you check the battery terminal connections? I understand the dealer supposedly went through everything but sometimes the most obvious solutions are the most overlooked.
I filled out one of those email forms on their Contact Us page and received a reply from this address: [email protected]
From what I found the offset of those wheels was -12mm or 4.53" backspacing. The US Mags blank wheels are -37mm which means the Ansen's wouldn't have as much...
PSA: The American Racing rep I spoke to did say that if there is enough interest, they will consider bringing back their Ansen Sprint wheel part number VNA697983. From what I can tell, those should be a better fit on the Bronco if they'd just start making them again. If you're interested, send...
You are correct, the offset of the blank wheel will stick out of the fender flares considerably more than stock. According to their customer support however, they don't do custom bolt patterns on their other wheels; only the blank part number in my earlier post.
That was my next step but my Bronco hasn't been built yet so it's bad luck for me to spend big money on something I don't have. 😁
US Mags customer service said they would drill the wheels, so I don't know if that's an additional charge or built into the price already since they're blanks and...
I've been researching this recently and the only option currently is to have these drilled for the Bronco bolt pattern:
