  1. 285 70R17's look pretty good to me

I was toying with the idea of ordering a Badlands for the 33 inch tires but after seeing this video showing that 285's fit a Black Diamond without any spacers or lift, I am going Black Diamond. What's up with markups these days? Anyone know if Crossroads Ford in Apex, NC will do anything...
  2. Is there any reason that I couldn't rip the center screen out and replace it with a basic DIN or double-DIN stereo system?

I asked a question. It's either yes, it can be done and here's how, or no, it cannot be done and here's why. Like what vehicle systems? To be clear, I am thinking to order a 2-door Black Diamond with a standard package, the base motor, and a manual trans.
  3. Is there any reason that I couldn't rip the center screen out and replace it with a basic DIN or double-DIN stereo system?

It's not about hiding from the CIA or living a life of crime. It's more about an anti-tech aesthetic. It's my style. I have no TV in my main house but a huge library. Personal choice.
  4. Is there any reason that I couldn't rip the center screen out and replace it with a basic DIN or double-DIN stereo system?

Yes, very original! Obviously, the jokes on everyone. It turns out that no secret control signals are necessary to get the population to believe complete horse shit. Just a lie pushed by mainstream media that's big enough.
  5. Is there any reason that I couldn't rip the center screen out and replace it with a basic DIN or double-DIN stereo system?

I'm thinking to get the manual. I drove a stick for many years. I test drove one at a local dealer. It was the easiest to drive stick I've ever driven, probably because of the torque. Anyone could learn it in a couple of hours in my estimation.
  6. Is there any reason that I couldn't rip the center screen out and replace it with a basic DIN or double-DIN stereo system?

The Standard Package doesn't have Nav (so probably no GPS), remote start, or automatic climate control, so none of that is probably any concern. What is the body control module? What trims/packages depend upon that? Beyond being a total tech/privacy nerd, I also think retro style is cool. DIN...
  7. Is there any reason that I couldn't rip the center screen out and replace it with a basic DIN or double-DIN stereo system?

I'm a privacy freak. I work in IT. I don't want an in-car navigation or an SOS button. I don't want my vehicle emitting an electronic signal at all. Is there any reason I couldn't rip out the center scren and Sync system and replace it with a low tech stereo? I just want a stereo that I can plug...
  8. Lane Keeping Assist

Yeah, I have a Honda Passport that has both, but it's garbage. The lane centering feature regularly drives itself out of the lane and then the lane departure warning toggles on and shakes the steering wheel and flashes a signal in the dash. It's...so stupid. If you know you're outside of the...
  9. Lane Keeping Assist

We all like it when people adhere to laws and best practices, but in my experience these electronic systems are poorly executed and will do surprisingly dumb things. Your mileage may vary, of course.
  10. Lane Keeping Assist

So the lane assist isn't enabled by default when you turn the vehicle on? Most new vehicles these days enable everything by default and you must disable them each time you turn the vehicle on.
  11. 3000 mile cross country road trip in Bronco Badlands

Are there any real world reports of the fuel economy for a stock Badlands 4-door?
  12. 3000 mile cross country road trip in Bronco Badlands

I'm curious. Why would that be normal?
  13. Lane Keeping Assist

If I order a Bronco with the Standard Package (and not the Mid or Luxury package), it will *not* have lane keeping assist, right? I hate the lane departure warnings on my Passport and I am very interested in ordering a vehicle without these electronic nanny's.
