I mentioned some of that in my post. Reread it. 99% of the time if you really want a truly murdered out vehicle, YOU have to do much of the detail work (tint tails, emblems, window tint, etc - All things I mentioned). Point is, they do make all black (doors, roof, body, rims, interior). YOU have...
For those talking about FOBs...
On my Platinum Edge I had, I bought a switchblade key FOB (the key flipped out & still had all FOB options/buttons) on eBay, transplanted the key & programed in 5min & dispensed with the lame factory straight FOB/key.
I'd be surprised if this wouldn't be...
There is an all black ("murdered" out) version. It's in a recent video. Not shaved door handles & emblems, but emblems are removable or painatble. You can easily do tails & such.
Daily driver. Light off road on mtn back roads, camping, fireroads, snow at altitudes. That's way I'm choosing the Badlands as the base but will forgo lockers, sasquatch, the larger 35's. I already have a rig more than capable & proven for really hardcore Moab Utah style 4x4.
Has anybody given any thought to (or seen in some of the demo vids as I haven't watched them all yet) how sophisticated the actual "removable" doors are?
That is.. are they going to have some sort of pigtails for an electrical connection and do they trust that to the customer to not continually...
In a standard 2 car garage, I drive in my FJ40 with 35's + a suspension lift & a custom light bar with KC lights that all stick up above roofline.
I'd be shocked if the stock rig wasn't verfied to fit in a common garage (sans roof rack, lights, gear).
On a side note, I'd instantly remove...
Perfect example. With this 1 easy to find picatinny/camera mount you can pretty much make anything if you have creativity & skill. As well, you can easily 3d print attachments for this picatinny clamp for virtually any device. Even a cool EDC pen holder.
If they can't figure out proper load, hinges, attachment, reinforcement of the tailgate you can all stop worrying about suspension, sway bars, etc as it will all fail. This is SO basic.
And if you drive around with a side tailgate swiung open, you should have your license revoked.
A 3D printer will resolve any ugly & unsightly cables should there not be an option. All cables & wires in my vehicles are hidden or covertly routed (radars, dash cams, phones, etc). A clean presentation is key.
You know honestly I don't know. I'm not paying attention a lot too what comes on what at this stage. but I'm sure either 1) it comes as part of a package on certain models 2) you could likely buy aftermarket and install it which I have done tons of times on other vehicles even if I didn't order...
This is still a non issue. You need to understand that this is something that's been done for a hell of a long time. a spare tire (even a 35) on a swing out tailgate? my FJ40 has had this since the 70s. You're not hitting a pothole with the tailgate open, you're hitting a pothole with the...
Assuming they build it with proper hinges, a swing out tailgate is nothing new. I have an aftermarket swing out accessory rack on my fj40 from the 70s that more than takes the abuse of a spare tire + a rack above the spare tire + all the weight on it . This is going to be a zero issue topic...
I ordered my Ford Edge. It came directly from the factory after 8 weeks on a train and when I got it it had 10 miles on it. if I placed a factory order for a brand new vehicle specifically for me and it came with a 50+ miles on it I'd be having a conversation with the dealer.
I posted it in another thread but I'll say it here... the simple decades old ubiquitous of the proven picatinny rail system is ten times better than anything else on the market, period. mlock and everything else is cool, but it's a very limited (I have both on firearms & I'll take picatinny any...
