They're gonna see a lot of people just not buying first year. We've waited 25 years, what's one more? There are guys like me that buy one and keep the truck no matter what. I'll find out build exactly what I want and that's what I walk away with. I waited a year for my Gen 1 (MY 2011), and...
Yea, this forum actually put a link out of an article about the Bronco suspension and in it a Ford rep said that suspension upgrades are being worked on. He even mentioned long travel (or something along those lines) being normal for IFS front ends and Ford is working with someone to put...
Now you know how Raptor owners feel with that gray instead of black. Once I put bed liner on my fender flares, it changed the whole look of the truck. Fiberglass helped, but I'm pretty sure Ford is relying on the aftermarket to cover it for them again.
Sorry for all the chatter about Raptors...
One thing to take with a grain of salt is the effort Ford will put into the truck. Yes, a ton of earlier problems have been seen and fixed, but also mostly on models with high production numbers for the average Jane and Joe. My Gen 1 Raptor had a lot of previously used parts and heavily tested...
I'm with ya. The idea of highly extended fuel range because it's a hybrid is awesome, you wouldn't need to try and plug your Bronco into a potato if it were full electric and you run out of juice 200 miles from civilization. But hybrid is such complicated tech. Trail-side fixes would be nigh...
Judging by the liberal testing of the skid plates, it looks like they hired a Marine Corp PFC and told him to drive it like the tax payers were paying for it.
I'm just going off of how the control arms look and the comment the Ford rep made in the suspension article about long travel type suspension being developed for them. I'm being optimistic, yes I get that. But Ford didn't say lift kit, it was speaking about extended or modified control arms...
When I added 37s to my Raptor I went to 4.88:1 instead of 4.56. My average over the life of the truck was 13.8 mpg on stock 35s (34.5" BF Goodrich KO2) with 4.10:1 great ratio. I checked it on a 100 mile trip and it was still 13.8, then did it again after switching to larger tours and new gears...
I'm actually disappointed there isn't a forest green or something. These colors are nice, but that leather interior with a forest green like my dad's '77 F150... that would've been killer.
The picture is after it was repainted, but it's the same color.
I'm pretty sure the fenders are specific to that set up. So I'm thinking it's a mid travel suspension upgrade with 37s and opened up fenders. For the desert people.
I think that's because the suspension likely has extended length control arms. In the past earlier that talked about the suspension details, it was said that Ford is partnering with folks who would be able to build that for them, so their plan is to sell aftermarket extended arms. But, the extra...
Reading the article, they confirm a prerunner type set up being worked on for swing arms, which explains why the orange Bronco with the holes in the doors looks like it's got longer arms and large tires.
I hope not. That's a cheap move and their new video talks about the history of the original 2 door's victories in desert races. I don't see why they wouldn't offer both, it's not like they couldn't tune the shocks and use the same parts. But, business decisions usually mean people don't get what...
