  1. Post your 2.3L Bronco Ford Performance Calibration Tune review

Bought it for the torque improvement, the low end punch. HP brings more speed, no need for that, I'm not drag racing. I do get better gas milage, averaging 22 mpg, maybe contrary to what others find. Like I said, I'm not racing to get anywhere, this is a Bronco Brick. Not a sports car.
  2. Why do Bronco owners drive so slow?

Agreed, the Bronco is not a sports car. I have no use to race to the next stop light catching up to that guy who passed me 15 seconds earlier only to come to a full stop, then stomp on it racing to get to the next light. On open road highways with light traffic I will drive 10 or more over the...
  3. Change Driveline Fluids Early!

I just finished changing front Dif / Transfer and rear Dif Fluids and installed the Ford Performance cover.. Everyrhing went real well Eze Pze. Used the cheap-po Flo Tool, thanks for that tip! Cut the length of fill tube as needed to get the bottle to Flo without kinking the tube. I used Redline...
  4. Most aggressive 3 peak rated 35 or 315 tire

Heavy tire at 71 lbs, what Engine / Trans are you running?
  5. Change Driveline Fluids Early!

How much time did you spend on this? I going to do my MT as well, I'm a capable car guy, doing most all service myself., short of warranty work.. I'm thinking 2 hours +/-.
  6. Change Driveline Fluids Early!

Good point. I was hoping to reuse the the OEM Gasket. Going to try to get to my install Saturday, supposed to be warmer here the next few days. Looking forward to your pictures.
  7. Change Driveline Fluids Early!

I received mine yesterday, surprised how quickly it arrived after my first experience with them took so long. Comes with the Gasket and ALL the bolts including the extended studs for the brake line and a nice instruction sheet with torque values.
  8. Change Driveline Fluids Early!

How long after you ordered your Dif Cover did it take to get to you,? The only other item I ordered from them took over a month to get.
  9. Manual transmission scraping noise / grinding sound

Thank you sir, that's a great assessment. You are right, the peanut gallery noise is always louder with failed repairs, poor product reviews etc... If my trans gets annoying beyond a mild irritant I'll call other dealerships and inquire. I really like the place I bought my Bronco, they are your...
  10. Manual transmission scraping noise / grinding sound

With so many horror stories from ones that have tried to get the TSB done, I'm not about to let any dealer attempt it. Everything from missing parts, wrong parts shipped, not the right tools, at the dealership for weeks to months waiting for parts, put back together only to have not assembled...
  11. Manual transmission scraping noise / grinding sound

My thought of buying an AB for future use just went out the window. Thinking after 150k miles or so I'll get rid of this bronco and on to another. I have no intention of having the transmission serviced in the immediate future. If it goes that long on the grumbling we get from it then it may...
  12. Manual transmission scraping noise / grinding sound

Thats a bummer, is there another latest and greatest replacement part number or is the AB the one for now?
  13. Change Driveline Fluids Early!

THANKS! Great explanation, have to laugh at CAFE Standards from Gear Oil, really.
  14. Change Driveline Fluids Early!

Oddly both have the Friction modifiers. Question - I'm sure you have your reasons for using the heavier Gear Oil. Based on your experience as you mention here, care to give me a short answer as to your thinking? I like Red Line products, never used Amsoil is there any reason you can think of not...
  15. Change Driveline Fluids Early!

Thanks, Good idea! I have a bunch of those in a kit, I may see what fits, I can understand the reasoning, plastic clips can and will break, hate to see the line dangling if that happened.
  16. Change Driveline Fluids Early!

I followed your lead on the Ford Cover, plan on changing every 25k, why fight cover removal each time, I ordered it with Pass Points. I did not think you would need new studs, where did you get the studs from / Part number please
  17. Change Driveline Fluids Early!

I tend to read all information on topics send as attachments, maybe others don't. It's how I learn all nuances on any topic that interests me. You've been very helpful on starting and participating in this thread. Thank You
  18. Change Driveline Fluids Early!

Good point, only questioned because the link you sent on the rear dif has that listed. I took it literally. Thanks for clearing it up.
  19. Change Driveline Fluids Early!

No one has mentioned adding Friction Modifier? Looking at the attached links Front does not call for it / Rear does
  20. Manual transmission scraping noise / grinding sound

I agree, I'm not going to push any repair unless it becomes undriveable, which to date does not seem to be the case. I have the ESP Warranty through 150k miles, if its going to fail it should by then. But at $1,200 having a spare to draw off of seems reasonable, can always sell it at some point...
