I think the answer to this question gets down to which one will pair with the manual. I'm Hoping for a 2.7 with a manual transmission, but i suspect that the 2.3 will be the only engine to pair with a manual. I hope i'm wrong. The 2.3 has plenty of power, but in the explorer it is just too loud...
