Another question comes to mind in the resulting height of the tow bar itself. Your recovery points (attachment points) for the Falcon tow bar appear higher. Mine do as well in the configuration I have on my Bronco with this bumper. I measure ~26 inches from the ground. Seems higher than some...
The last picture in your post #4 shows a picture of the underside of the front of the Bronco. Are those brackets you installed for safety cables attachment points?
Sweet! Those Black recovery points on the front of your Bronco look exactly like the Performance Tow Hooks I ordered in my post #3. Even has the same "knit" line down the center of the mount. Likely accepting the Roadmaster Adapters you suggested.
Thanks for the reply. Did those Curt adapters hook right up to the clevis/tow hooks on each recovery point?
Were those the standard tow hooks from Ford when Bronco was built? Just trying to get my bearings here with all these different OEM and 3rd party bumpers/brackets/adapters/tow bars...
I just ordered a set of these tow hooks for my 24'. They are the red ones though. Is that what they refer to as the "capable" bumper? Did you do the install/swap out of the hooks from the OEM "D" ring? If so could you provide me with any details required to dis assemble the bash plate and...
May I ask are these tow hooks the Performance Tow Hooks if so did you add them and where did you get them. I just ordered a set of red Performance Hooks and I would rather have the black but that wasn't a choice. RED, blue or orange were the choices.
So to be clear in addition to the Performance Tow hooks you swapped out you had to widen the adapters from Blue Ox. If so how did you go about doing that? No other 3rd party had adapters that would be wide enough?
Thanks
Thank you for the reply. Happy to hear you have successfully flat towed your Bronco.
Your setup sounds great and I am going to do install myself as I have no issues with this sort of work.
The base plate imo is really not to bad if you go with the Performance Tow Hook from Ford. This is...
I have the 2024 Heritage edition 2 Door and am strongly considering flat towing this vehicle. Looking for input from Manual Transmission owners only, both positive and negative experiences flat towing using these instructions or ones your model year directed you to use.
I am trying to assess...
Thanks for the reply. Hoping this is the case with a manual. Hate to spend on a flat tow setup then ending up ruining part of the drive train. I'd just list it for sale if I do not feel I can safely flat tow it. Very few miles on it right now.
Thanks for the heads up. Sorry to hear you went through this. Bought the manual transmission hoping this would not be the case. Is this sort of thing happening with manual transmission?
Thanks for the reply. I looked underneath the bumper yesterday, it appears there are only 4 bolts (2) each side that hold it on and of course need to disconnect wire harness on drivers side. Skid plate had 4 bolts as well. Will these bolt up or do they have a larger foot print than the "D"...
Hello new to forum. Just bought this 2.3l 6 speed manual in April for the wife and would like to flat tow out west before long. Hoping to get some knowledge on the best flat tow setups currently available with an emphasis on the cleanest setup where it doesn't look like the front end is ready...
